Low flush pressure is pretty common. It's likely less a hard poop problem than poor plumbing, an old toilet, short flush handle chain, etc.

The German style toilets one finds in certain countries - such as Germany and South Africa - have a sort of shelf on the bottom of the toilet colloquially known as the poop shelf. Those knives are sold in those countries to clean that shelf off. Perhaps her husband is German, or they live in Germany or South Africa or another country with a similar style toilet, etc. but it's definitely not something needed for an American style toilet. I only know this because I'm married to a South African. And my in-laws offered me something similar when I came to visit them. People often wonder why my husband sought after and accepted American citizenship. While I won't say that was the primary cause, he has not had to un-butter his toilet since he moved here in 2003.

Colonoscopy= The prep medicine is the worst stomache ache. Morphine & Oxy time for sure! And it barely helped...
