I have and old pair of gas fitter's pliers with the screw extractor end over here in Britain. They must be forty plus years old. Made in USA. Just upgraded to the Knipex Twin Grip and have fallen slightly in love.

I think it only seems like an japanese thing because the Mayhew (PZ-55) and the Vampliers (here: PZ-59) are only rebranded Engineer pliers. Engineer found its niche in making specialty tools and they were long time the only manufacturer for screw extraction pliers outside of the US. The funny thing is that the success of Vampilers cause Fujiya (basically the Knipex of Japan) and Knipex to make pliers like these themselves and Engineer to introduce more different models.

It is amazing how many tool sellers have no idea about tool description. The worst are the sellers who tell you the size of the package the tool comes in as if this would be a necessary factor in your purchasing decision.

The Amazon link is correct, he just didn't get that it's a 7 inch blade and 12 inch OAL.

I use the plastic scrapers all the time, work great to pull off stickers, get burnt gunk off a cooktop, or light scraping when you don’t want a razor

Good luck warrantying the Vampire Tools screw extractor pliers (or anything else for that matter). I contacted them and they told me I needed the sales receipt from four years ago. Of course I don't have it. Why would I? So I strongly suggest to buy the Engineer brand instead. They are less expensive than Vampire ( supposedly Vampire cost more because they are "lifetime warranty") and Engineer is the actual manufacturer of Vampire. Vampire warranty sucks. I sent them a pic of my new Engineer brand replacement screw extractor pliers. No reply LOL.

You and I both chipped our Milwaukee demo screwdrivers in the same spot. It's hilarious. Day 1

So, the size is a bit misleading in the name. 12 inch "OAL" is overall length, which includes the handle. The blade is 7 inches, the handle is 5.

The Milwaukee demo/duct screw driver is great for punching holes in sheet metal. Then it the tip isn't straight on both sides so you can get better leverage for prying.

Handle is identical to there Dominator prybars. Which are the best I've ever had. Definitely a beast of a screwdriver you have there.
@ptstouring49

The length refers to the shaft past the handle as is common with screwdrivers. I have the full set of five pry bars and the 54in pry par, and all the screwdrivers (and the select screwdriver set which is Taiwan). Pry bars are great, the tips on the screwdrivers, including the USA made one impact screwdriver line you reviewed, chipped. Wera is better for the actual screwdrivers. The tips are vastly superior. YMMV.

I like my Anex No.9210 demolition driver the best but it’s a bit more than 15 bucks. Although I really do like the square shank on the mayhew

I have the straight and curved mayhew pry bars and I’m pretty sure this is just the small straight pry. I really like them, but the thickness of that head isn’t gonna fit in many slotted fasteners. That being said I love them. Price is right, they make picks and scrapers with same handle and they’re great. They are tool truck quality (rebranded Matco I think)

After I bought mine I noticed the price jumped…on the 12”. But the price on the 18” dropped to $15 so I ordered one of those. Then the price on that one doubled. We’ll see what shows up.

I bought some imported thing (I think it was a storage cabinet) but came with a "cheap" JIS pattern long shank screwdriver. It's magnetic, has been quite durable, and is probably going on year 3 or 4 now. I need to get better JIS drivers but I have almost developed a sentimental attachment to that driver. Heck I used it tonight to strip a floor fan and extract a failed thermal fuse.

Stickers always bugged me on tools. Estwing hammers have 3 and none come off easy. Nice Vaughan hammers they put them on the wood handle and those stickers are bad too.

I had a Snap On 36" straight striking pry bar for a while, but found it near useless compared to the angled tip version. Asked my SO dealer about the large straight version and he said they were popular with techs who have to crack open big truck transmissions.

@@lastbesttool Yea, I honestly don't get why they do the 24 and the 36... but the 10 and 12? I've been eying them over the Matco PryDriver or the Mayhew... Because I'm a Snap On snob!

How do you use the Milwaukee demolition for conduit? I am not familiar with that feature I would like to see it work. I thought that notch in the blade was used to start up nails or say help pull a stripped screw up while using your driver.
