Unlocking the Challenge Medal in IMPOSSIBLE Bowser's Inside Story! In this video, we continue our quest to beat Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story while enemy attacks are double the speed. Many of you suggested that I get the challenge medal, an item that makes enemies have higher pow, hp, and def. This mod is already crazy enough as it is, but let's see how hard it gets now.
This is a kaizo mod or a hard mode mod for Bowser's Inside Story created by ‪@Skelux‬ through the form of an Action Replay code. In the Bowser's Inside Story Impossible Mode series, we are attempting to beat the game under these conditions.

Fair warning. With the Challenge Medal equipped, Dark Fawful’s most powerful attack basically becomes a guaranteed 1HKO if you don’t dodge. So... yeah.

dude it was Always a 1 hit kill for me as i only upgraded power the entire game so i had low defense so low that he’d ko me every damn time he used it and it’s even harder in the remake but seoriously the durmite fight in the remake is honestly the Hardest fight in the game you think this versions hard it’s Almost Nothing compared to the remake he summons that damn straw nearly Every turn durmite is so overpowered in the remake so much so that many of my friends said the same thing it’s way harder in the remake

most of dark bowser’s attacks become instant KO’s his attack code is based on your own attack power the challenge medal’s buff it normally multiplies by 2 but due to dark bowser’s unique attack stat it’s ridiculously high

The challenge medal buffs the enemies pow by 150% while it buffs all the other stats by 50% and regardless of who has it will affect everyone

not exactly in the section where mario is disabled the challenge medal is inactive unless luigi wears it I tried a lowest level with challenge medal run and I noticed the scuttles were a little easier so I returned to last save and gave luigi the medal so I noticed the lower damage on the scuttles and the instakill on me after I re-equipped it

Fun fact: in the Japanese version Broque Monsieur speaks broken English instead of English with french thrown in. In french versions he speaks with English thrown in, and in German he has no accent.

If you want you can also get daredevil boots later on :) which means getting 60 points on the jump helmet challenge in the challenge node, it doubles your POW but you die in one hit

Just imagine how ridiculous the Dark Trashures in Peach's Castle will be. They already have their attacks sped up as it is. Also those turnip attacks during the Wiggler fight looked pretty ridiculous. It seemed to me like they always rotated three full times before hitting you, though.

According to FatGuy703, the challenge medal in the remake instead multiplies the damage Mario, Luigi & Bowser can deal and take by 2.5, basically turning it into a Great Force from Superstar Saga.

Nice to see more Bowser's Inside Story Impossible mode! 1:07 The Mario & Luigi games are overall fantastic, but having to beat the highscore in these minigames to get exclusive stuff isn't the best. 5:10 Yeah, this is the curse of playing (3)DS games on emulators. 20:32 Emulator woes, part two. Sadly I don't remember how to set the mic up on those. 21:07 Didn't expect the giant battles to also be affected, cool! Looking forward to the next episode whenever it comes out!

I absolutely agree with you in 1:07. Having to beat highscores with Special Attacks sucks.(... glutes.) If that still needed to exist, i would put lower highscores to beat. Jump Helmet, B rank, would be a complete Excellent attack.(it would work exactly like in a normal battle, expect you attack with it as many times as you can, without stopping. And trust me, a complete Jump Helmet attack is very hard to do.) A rank, would be 3. S rank, would be 5. Also the Green Shell, S rank would be 100. It works exactly like in a normal battle, and after 10 hits, the shell goes to the next bro.(example, if the attack is started by Mario, after 10 hits, the shell will go to Luigi. Also, if it goes to 20 hits, it goes back to Mario.) I mean, you can't have a fast shell almost all the time. B rank would be 20, and A rank would be 60. These are the 2 examples that i have for you. I don't know/remenber anything else.

@@netheriteingots5896 But then wouldn't it be uncomfortable to use regular buttons which are vital in this game? The good thing is that it shouldn't be too difficult to record from such a device.

@@johnnymind4151 true, but there is a way to customise the positon of the buttons and d-pad both in landscape and portait mode, I got used to it, while this may still be uncomfortable to other people, especially the L and R buttons, I usually put those at the top of landscape so my pointer fingers can still press them and in portrait, I lower them inbetween the two screens to also be touched by my pointer fingers, I also enlarge the buttons so you can easily press them, but the most uncomfortable thing with the L and R buttons are holding them(Mario kart Ds).

Wasn't it possible to properly time the level up bonuses so you can get the best numbers because it cycles through always the same numbers in the same order? At least I remember that I did that a lot and it very often worked ...

I’m pretty sure the amount of stat points when the bros level up scales with Bowser’s current level, and I think it peaks sometime between level 21 - 23 Bowser. If you (for some insane reason) go for Challenge Medal Bowser X, I recommend grinding with the bros for a while once you reach that point and putting beans on in the endgame. I think I saw this on a GameFAQs forum, I’ll come back with the link if I manage to find it.

I might know how to get the mic working. I don't have a save at a giant battle so I had to use the mic test to test it out but here's what I did: I opened audacity (audio recording program) and hit ctrl+P on my keyboard to open preferences. I then clicked on devices and changed the channels to 1 (mono) instead of 2. Then I recorded a few seconds of me blowing into my microphone. Then I clicked on file -> export -> export as WAV. set the encoding to "Unsigned 8-bit PCM" and then clicked save. Then go into desmume and click microphone settings. the option you want to pick is "Use Microphone Samples" and then click the 3 dots next to sample at the bottom. choose the file you recorded and then press the button for microphone. hopefully this works in giant battles.

Mayro, when it’s available, are you to grab the giant shell? It may come in handy on Luigi since it nullifies damage less than 20 percent of your max hp ( at least it should be, not sure if it’s been changed) (you can tank fawfuls laser normally so it may do something)

U equip the medal on Mario or Luigi, it amplifies all enemies hp, attack, def, speed, coins (even bowser enemies)

Challenge Medal Durmite is the most cancerous thing in the entire series. Like, you don't need to heal EVERY SINGLE TURN.

I’m actually curious as to how the fight with Midbus during the Fawful Theater would go. Would Midbus get more food/coins if they land a hit on you? Would BOWSER get more coins if he landed an excellent?

Honestly, the Goomba Special Attack would probably be doable on a DS with an actual Stylus. But on Emulator with Mouse, No Oh God, The Meteor The Door The Tube Bob-Omb All of those will be extremely hard

In the 3DS Remake, you use the flame breath in giant battles with the stylus as well. Maybe that'll work

I figured out if you’re using melonds you need to use blow noise in audio instead. I did use the mic test as an indicator. So trial and error works.

Hey you have the fire attack for the giant bowser battles set on your "L" button right? Try holding it down for a long time instead of just tapping that might work and could possibly get you get a free excellent hit everytime

I like the concept of the challenge medal in theory, but I think BIS did a terrible job balancing the difficulty with it. Rather than making the game more challenging, it just makes all the fights take way too long

@@MayroSMM ah, that seems to prevent a softlock. The speed of the animations are still messed up for a lot of them tho. Green shell, Snack Basket, Mighty Meteor, Spin Pipe, Super bouncer, and magic window Don't work because of this tho

Between the Brothers stats Mario's strengths are Luigi's weaknesses and vice versa Mario's Higher Special Points Attack Power Speed Mario's lower Heart Points Defense Critical/Lucky Luigi's higher Heart Points Defense Critical/Lucky Luigi's lower Special Points Attack Power Speed Look at Dream team when starting the game when entering Pil'lo Castle and open the Status menu and their base stats are such

Beat Junker X in the boss rematches. The problem is that the challange medal has been reworked. Enemies will deal 2x damage to you, but you will also deal 2x damage to all enemies

Mayro I want to thank you, last June when you posted the video where you opened up about a few things, one of which you being a trans girl, well so am I and you really helped me start to think about coming out as at the time I had only told one person. Ig it’s all about starting telling the people you’re most trusting in at first. But thanks to you I was able to open up to my gf and now I’m feeling more ready to open up even more and be completely open about it. I’m currently nearing the end of secondary school and I have my GCSEs this May, and school kids especially in secondary school can be horrible and so on but going on in my life and meeting new people I’m now fully comfortable with admitting my gender switch. So thank you so much Mayro you have rlly been what’s backed me and given me the confidence to do this and I’ll forever be grateful to you for this, despite not even knowing you in person.
