Easy peasy! Came as a surprise these glides use pop-rivets to hold them.

The reason they use rivets is because this dryer goes back to late 70 early 80 until like 1998.. they made them solidddddd

Thanks for the question! They can definitely make noise when they're wearing out. I would suggest opening up the dryer and looking at the glides to see if they're worn out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the drum is reversible if you allow the glides to damage the front of the drum. Just flip the drum back to front.

If you allow these guides to wear out completely, your drum will eat in to the drum support like mine did. It was a loud scraping sound. that, as it turned out, was cutting in to the metal of the drum and support! I had some very thick tanned hide from Tandy Leather that I used to make knife strops. I cut pieces the same size as the glides, and used WeldWood to secure them to the cleaned metal. I lightly oiled the pads (I made three instead of two) and reassembled the dryer. It's never been so quiet! It was made in 1993. They just don't make them like this any more!
