In this video we will show you the cylinder head gasket torque specs and bolt sequence on Mazda with 2.3 Turbo Engine. We demonstrated the cylinder head gasket torque specs and bolt sequence on Mazda CX-7 but it should work on MazdaSpeed 3 and Mazdaspeed 6 with the 2.3 turbo disi engine.

The last 2 steps I went a 45 degrees throughout the head for 4 times I just felt it was easier for me

In America we use ft lb. Not mm. Can you convert this?

your torque wrench should have Nm on the opposite side of where it says ft lb. hell, just Google the conversation between ft lb and Nm

Do you think it would be ok to reuse the head bolts on this model?

No dont reuse these are torque to yield bolt it's highly unlikely that they are good you would have to make sure that the bolts are still within spec but it's always good just to use new hardware do it right the first time and save yourself the hassle.

@@SUPRA0NE thanks. I ended up buying some but i hate that theyre torx head instead of the 12pt. I've been looking around for the 12pt but I cant find em anywhere

The reason you cannot reuse the bolts is because they stretch during stage 2 when you torque them to the angle. After first use they become longer, so next time they can break or be not as strong. Also they may hit the end of the thread in the cylinder block and not go any further when you torque them. Outcome is pretty bad: either stripped thread or cracked engine block. Do not reuse!

@@artembelkine8416 HOW CAN YOU TELL IF THEY ARE REALLY STRETCHED....I HAVE DONE THIS TO TWO DIFFERENT CARS..AND I COMPARED THE BOLT LENGTH" ALL OF WERE REALLY CLOZE.. NOTHING WOULD SUGGEST THEY ACTUALLY WENT LONGER" IF THE TAKE THE NEW BOLTS AND COMPARE THEM...NONE OF THOSE BOLTS ARE EXACT...BUT ARE VERY CLOSE" WHAT WE DID..WAS WENT TO A SALVAGE YARD..AND START OFF WITH 80FT POUNDS IF IT CLICKS AND THE BOLT DOESN'T MOVE...ITS A HIGHER FT PDS...THEN YOU MOVE TO 86FT POUND....WE THEN GO TO 94FT POUNDS .AND IT STILL DIDN'T MOVE BUT AT 97FT PDS IT MOVED AND CLICKED...AT THE SAME TIME...WE MOVED IT BACK DOWN TO 96FPDS..AND TRIED TO RETURN A BOLT WE HAD NOT TOUCHED YET AND IT DIDN'T MOVE...SO..97FTPDS...IS THE NUMBER WE WENT WITH" WHEN WORKING ON THE REST OF THE BOLTS... THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE 90DEGREE LAST TURN...WE JUST ADDED 2 MORE STEPS...WE CUT THE NUMBER IN HALF...WE USED A 4FT PIPE INSIDE THE TORGUE WRENCH...TO HELP DO THE LAST 2 STEPS...THIS CAN BE DONE ON ANY CAR" FIND OUT WHAT THE NUMBER IS AND TEST IT" IN OTHER WORDS...WHEN WE TOOK ALL TEN BOLTS OFF THE MAZDA 6...WE HAD NEW BOLTS...BUT WE DID THE SAME WITH 4 OF THE BOLTS AND FOUND THE TOP NUMBER' THEN COMPARED IT WITH THE OTHER 6 BOLTS AND GOT THE THE SAME NUMBER..IT IS WHAT IT IS "
