Back in my day they weren’t common but were out there, a mate had one but it was a real beater, been abused but was still fast! You could pick up a grandpa one , well maintained and never abused for about 500 bucks, no one wanted them, rice burners we called them! Wish I had bought a few and hidden them away in a shed somewhere!

Had an RX2 2 door coupe back in the 80s with a little more than a mild port , bigger exhaust etc. Pretty quick. Then a mate gave me a ride in an RX3 13B rally car with electronic ignigtion fuel injection & a turbo !! I shit fish hooks !!

@rotarygemini You need to contact your Historic Touring Car Association in your state. They will point you in the right direction. See the web address in this video description for Victoria, they will help. Keep in mind that you can only use a 12A bridgeport, rear drum brakes, etc and basically technology that was available up to 1972 in this Group NC class of racing among other restrictions. Its a great class. You'll also need a C.A.M.S. liscense.

Must be one hell of a sheepstation up for grabs! Race 1's warm up lap with all four RX2's drifting through turn 7 (?) was a sight to see.

Absolutely awesome. Totally regret selling my 12 BP 74 RX-2 that I decked out for racing many years ago. Congrats on a brilliant drive and beautifully set up car...Couple of questions, what is the gearbox, straight cut gears? Also is that Go-Pro footage? Watched it 3 times now, gives me goosebumps and I agree 100 times more interesting that the V8 supercars.
