Increíble. La mejor versión. Ella, Nina, y los dos músicos que aparecen en el video. El pianista y, sobre todo, el genial percusionista.

This is from a Red Cross / Croix-Rouge charity show on French TV, with Don Pullen on piano and still going strong Leopoldo F. Fleming on percussion. Actually, Fleming was the one who came up with the idea of the double-time bongo arrangement, he is playing here on 'My Way', which can also be heard on the track of 'My Way' on Nina Simone's 'Here Comes The Sun' album. There is another video from a later date where Simone is even trying to play that rhythm on the piano herself without a percussionist. By the way, and which so many (even musicians!) are mistaken about, 'My Way' is NOT composed by Paul Anka, but is a French song "Comme d'habitude" composed by Jacques Revaux with lyrics by Gilles Thibaut and Claude François. Paul Anka wrote the English lyrics.

Wow, I always wondered if that was a human playing bongos in the background. Always loved this take on the song.

IIn what or who would Nina be thinking while singing? It is not acting. You are experiencing a past sitiation in your mind. Because in this video, you can clearly see that you are remembering something. It is not a normal performance, of "singing a song and that's it .." You can see that she is thinking about something that she has lived. He does not interpret the song. THE LIVE. Hence, it is so perfect. Because he is not imposing anything. They are real feelings. That's why it's perfect. Because he is "singing" a real experience of his life. It is not simply singing a song. Attention at minute 2:02 when with a "sssssshhh" she tells the musicians, to lower the tone of the notes that they will interpret below. It's the impression he gives me.
