I’ve been a trash man for 3 years & my strength, speed, explosiveness, change of direction, balance, etc. you name it went up drastically since I started working. It’s so many different ways I can work every muscle in my body between the way I hop on & off the truck & the way I pick up the bins it’s crazy. It’s why I’ve been doing this job it’s 10x more productive than any gym if you’re creative

Nsima always has the most reasonable and relevant questions. Sometimes in podcasts or videos I just wish they would ask certain things but Nsima stays on top of it

I love what Mark talks about around minute 40. Taking a little bit of all of the philosophies and making your own personal philosophy. That is the epitome of Jeet Kun Do!

shoulder health is underrated. rotator cuff tears are super common w athletes and a lot of time it never gets better even after surgery.

Nsima’s recent video directed me here because I’m interested in the micro dosing aspect. As far as his strength training, the (half) squats early in the video tell me all I need to know about that aspect.

When the Suns practiced at University of Portland’s gym over half the team was lifting amongst students real quick just like Coach Corey said. Got to dumbbell press next to Kelly Oubre Jr and was losing my mind on the inside

Just out of curiosity I would have loved to have heard how much different suns plays were able to lift in certain exercises I understand he isn’t allowed to disclose that kind of information with his contract but if you try and find videos of NBA players training you will notice it is rare you find videos of them lifting heavy weights in movements like squat bench deadlift so on but so many strength coaches have said they do lift heavy weights like in the video he mentioned he does train heavy front squats and quarter back squats with his athletes

I've never understood basketball players resistance to getting bigger. There is a reason LeBron can stay healthy and is so hard to stop in the paint.

LeBron is a genetic freak similar to Giannis. But yes muscle helps but too much is detrimental ofc. What saves Bron from injury are his optimally firing muscles. Most players who are injury prone usually have "sleeping muscles" or imbalances which when they are finally tested often fail. Guys like LeBron have the miraculous ability for the modern sitting/sedentary human to activate all necessary muscles with sufficient force to protect his kinetic chain. A easily seen sign of this is the way LeBrons ankle locks itself whenever he should in theory sprain his ankle. It locks with so much strength that like a rock it never folds or puts itself in compromising positions. Very cool stuff.

Has anyone in the history of the world ever successfully fixed a winged scapula. Asking for a friend
@nickpumpeth
@nickpumpeth 2 жыл бұрын
Seems to be an unfixable curse in this field that isn’t talked about at all. Sort of just feels like my weightlifting journey is done. Throws the whole torso out of equilibrium and you basically can never lift without something being out of place and getting hurt

Start from the foot. Then the ankle. Then the knee. Then the hips. Don’t focus too much on the scapula itself at first and address the whole chain. Usually dysfunction from these areas will cause internal rotation of the shoulder (frozen shoulder/scapula winging) Hang from a bar 2-3 minutes per day changing hand positions. This worked wonders for me. It changed my life I had winged scapula for over 10 years. This simple action got the whole rotator cuff active and strong. Give it go. Hope it helps
