Lied about sindel killing herself and she was never resurrected because it was before then when they merged times it doesn’t make sense why bring her back at all then if she had no purpose. They ruined her whole purpose and made her just another evil power hungry gold digger like every villain in this game. They changed her and kabal because if they look evil they have to be evil that was the cool thing with both of them. They looked evil but weren’t

On one hand the actress for Sindel did a good job with what she was given, the fact that they retconed her into a complete monster with no redeeming qualities is insulting to Sindel as a character.

Not only is it insulting to the character, the reason for the retcon was because NRS genuinely believed their fans were dumb and would find Sindel to be "too complex" of a character. So they made her evil to "simplify" her for our smooth brains.

I use to respect Sindel but now I don’t after she killed her husband for Shao Kahn(The big baby who wants to rule and conquer everything) and betrayed her own daughter, Kitana and I feel bad for Sheeva. Tbh they shouldn’t made her a Villain/Antagonist and kept her as she was in mk9 or previous as a Heroine/protagonist. I like her better in mk9

Definitely an interesting approach for Sindel in a changed and altered timeline. My only issue is that they didn't do more with her. Also I really don't understand why people don't like the idea of Sindel as an actual villain as opposed to the brainwashed victim she was in the original timeline. If they only did more with her and took things further with her character storywise...and kept things consistent than she would've made an amazing Villain. Seriously who did kill Sindel in this timeline? Devorah or Quan-Chi?

@@justataco1776 You do understand that this version of Sindel is supposed to be a villain right? Villains aren't supposed to be good people they're supposed to be vindictive and self-serving. As a villain this Sindel could've been a great character if they just did more with her character. The real issue with her is that they more or less established her as a major powerplayer in MK9 then sort of forgot about her till MK11 and even then she was more of a background character than anything.

MK9 however had already established Sindel's character as the same from the Midway era, a kind, caring mother that loved her daughter above all else. THAT was the Sindel NRS gave us, and that is why people hate MK11 Sindel. Because they did a complete 180 on her character because, to paraphrase from NRS themselves, "she looked evil, so she has to be evil"

Sindel was the one who killed a large portion of the casts major characters and and taunted Kitana for her naivety and being too soft as she killed her all in one scene. Furthermore in 9 she admitted that she wasn't being controlled by Quan Chi but did all of this because she wanted to. So no she was NOT a good guy in MK9 she was evil. Just as any good villain should be evil.

It wasn't just that evil is cooler, it created more conflict within the story and characters as opposed to being another good guy. Keep in mind, the writers didn't do this to be jerks, they just chose the path that they felt was more interesting.

Such a shame that rather than make villain Sindel compelling they made her a generic sexy bad guy. I don't mind her betrayal of Edenia or Jerrod, but the fact that she has so little regard for Kitana? That's a complete miss on NRS end.

She did defend Kitana enough to keep her alive when both Mileena and Shao himself saw it as a quick fix to just murder the black sheep of Outworld's royal family. Not saying you're wrong, just pointing out a redeeming quality.

@@robegondrp5677 I'm talking about what we see in the aftermath story, and especially in her ending. She literally lies to and then manipulates Kitana to return Shao Kahn to power. What made Sindel special as a character before was her relationship with Kitana, and that's mainly what drove her as a character. They could have made her evil without making her heartless towards Kitana. She's just pointlessly evil, and there's no real redeeming qualities to her character to make her compelling. She's literally just an evil skank, and that's not particularly interesting either lol.

@@icykid It's not even that, Sindel was never a villain. They retconned her into being a villain, which no one wanted, and made her so bland. Sindel before was interesting. She had some depth to her character. There was something they could have really explored in a modern day mortal kombat game where she looks as good as she does, but they turned her into this heartless cruel character that legitimately no one wanted. No one wanted to play as Sindel because she gave off evil mommy vibes, lol.

I miss the old Sindel straight from edenia Sindel or whathever those lyrics were. but for real, i hate that they assassinated her character like this. I liked it when she had more dimension, when it was possible that she was driven mad or crazy by shao khan. I liked the story that made it seem like she was a survivalist for her daughter, she was being a protector over the last thing she had that tied her to her late husband. it just doesnt make sense either, why/how would someone so cruel and heartless become queen of edenia and have a child with someone known as a peaceful and benevolent king! she can be powerful and cunning and strict without being a power thirsty, abusive, hateful and conniving.
