Loved the MC5 since i first heard them as a kid in the mid 70's, loved Hawkwind with Lemmy too & Motorhead since he started that band too but this is a rare treat I never knew existed till now! respect for sharing it with us man.

Holy crap is that Nicke Andersson on guitar? Lucky dude got to play with MC5 and Lemmy. He's got rock in his veins.

I think he owes them standing in for Sonic, hellacopters wouldn't know how to sound if it wasn't for "city slang".

Underscores the real tragedy that talents like Rob Tyner and Fred Smith never had the success (and rewards) that vastly less talented musicians enjoyed.

+Mr x Artists,and I mean real artists like da Vinci are not fully appreciated until their earthly demise. I grew up listening to MC5 and seen them an inumerable number of times because when I was growing up I hung out on Plum St. Grande Eastown the new Grande and Cinderella ballrooms. I know how talented they were. They were THE UNDERGROUND . Bands like the monkees,archies who made big $$$ were not hippies like MC5 etc...they were not the underground...

That. Is, so, so True, to me. Scott Morgan is not Dead though, and he is one overlooked talent that will be praised like that when he leaves Detroit, life. Hopefully not in ages.

I remember when the leftover Leftists from Detroit were slagging the surviving three MC-5 for doing this show in London. Buttholes. Now Mike is dead, Lemmy's dead, and this can never happen again. God bless Mike, Dennis, and Wayne for standing up to the jerks who tried to tear them down.

Speechless, and there we have Nicke, from the Hellacopters, that more or less used their entire career to educate people on the roots, and ended up dong gigs, albums with Kramer, Morgan...I doubt they ever met Fred, who wrote Sister Anne and as I know of it, left us in 1994. Fred, Sonic, Smith. That is. Writer, vocals, rhytm guitarist of the MC5s and former of Sonics Renez....well you know or you do not and then you know on Ciry Slang and I just have to BOW. Thank You. Everyone, that made me, and so many others, aware. "Great stuff", is a humiliation. This is the stuff, as good as it gets in modern era. I think.

can this Concert be find on vinyl? it feels almost like somewhat a such epic event of music history, so for it to not be released properly on a real record label would be a shame. A label that want's to put on a proper dubble vinyl, because if it's not already something that exists... it definitely should!

Been a fan of the Damned since '76 but it took me 41 years to realise that their "Looking at You!" was a cover version of MC5's original. Thank you MC5! Honour where honour's due! Iam writing this in the year of our Lord 2017 and have to say that I love MC5! As for Lemmy, well it goes without saying! Lemmy and the Damned had a long history but will never understand his fascination with the Beatles but...... hey! Each to their own and who am I anyway to argue with a true music legend!

Lemmy could have been a perfect fit after Rob Tyner vocal wise & after Mike & his bust Bass player aswell but Lemmy had his "Incident" when he actually died & got revived.That is why Hawkwind fired him.

He got fire for getting busted on the Canadian border for coke when in actuality he had speed. He got bailed out only because his replacement couldn't make it. So he played his last gig then got fired.

Can you name the original line up? Carlos you look stoopid like the idiots who think James Williamson made the Stooges.MC5 only ever had on my count 10 members I love Sonic But Rob was a bit man but wrote great lyrics Rob Tyner band live stuff I have seen were very amateur pick up guys.
@JulioLeonFandinho7 жыл бұрын
I've been listening to MC5 music during 20 years more or less, are you giving me lessons about them? My opinion is that without the charismatic voice of Tyner and the musical knowledge, abilities and style of Sonic Smith there's no MC5... Do you want any prove? listen to their albums, there's one line-up in there, and I don't count 10 members, I count 5. I can't watch them in this video

Lemmy wanted Motorhead to sound like the MC5. Big overlaps with Hawkwind, Pink Fairies, Deviants, Mick Farren and Wayne Kramer. Lemmy here in the band he'd always wanted to be in. No Motorhead, no Damned, without MC5. And no Iggy.
