My dear friend. You are doing a great service for a fellow that probably would give any amount because he knows you do first rate work. Hopper you inspire so many people to step out and do things they would never have tried. I know if you can’t get it running it probably will never run. I just love watching you work on the old stuff. I appreciate everything you do and the help you bring to everyone that needs it. I know you have been having a rough time with being sick and other issues in the family and you have always kept a positive attitude and leaned on the lord for help. I cant thank you enough for giving me and others a path to follow and living by example. I love ya brother and yes you are my brother. God bless you and the family. ❤️🌲🪓👊🏻🙏🏻

Thanks for filming this. I feel you on the last few minutes explaining the cost of your labor and the result of that. He bought a $10.00 saw. I've bought a $10.00 saw before. I knew it would take me a lot of work to fix it myself. Labor is expensive. If you buy a $10.00 saw, be prepared to fix it yourself and pay with your time and knowledge or pay someone else what it really costs to fix one. A mechanic has to be able to eat these days. ESPECIALLY a mechanic that owns the business and does the work themselves rather than having a newly hired guy start billing hours.

I know the trend is that these aren't worth much, however if your climbing in a tree all you want is small light and run. These pull the chain fine, for the cost a great first saw.

You spent 59 more minutes on one of these than I would. I've rebuilt the carb on mine and got lucky the first time but at the rate it takes a shop to spend even an hour on one exceeds the value of what one is worth and why dealers would teams these and not work on them. Biggest pain was the carbs and getting to them. You can bench run it out of its shell with a separate fuel tank to fine tune the carb before tossing back in its shell.
@j.k.mcclead92072 жыл бұрын
If you put engine and all its hoses, wires and linkage on first, then fuel tank and cover on last, it will make the job so much easier. These are my favorite Macs to work on because they are the “problem Child” of the entire line.
@drummer0864 Жыл бұрын
I now have 3 of these and I've had each one apart a few times because none of them ran when I got them. I have found that hooking the throttle linkage on the trigger just before sliding the tank and motor all the way in isn't to terrible. I never take the trigger loose at the top and I leave the linkage hooked to the carb. It's harder to get apart than it is to get back together that way, but it's easer than the way you did it and eliminates a couple of steps. The first few times I took one of these things apart I made up some new cuss words and I have my newest one, to me, on the bench right now. Carburetor problems and I have been able to get the carb kits off of Ebay. I know your good and that's why I checked in to see If I could pick up a few tricks, Thanks for all I've learned from you in the past and good luck with gettin' her going. Chip, from Delaware

Worked on one of these some years ago. Took awhile to get it together. When I finally got it to run I found it had excessive crankcase axial end play, so much that the chain drive links clashed with the bar groove. Didn't know if you could fix that so i binned it. Was complete with case and papers too. One thing I learned, check the crank first thing, right after eyeballing the exhaust side of the piston.🤔👍

Unnecessary is the right word to get to that carb. You ask me, it's a throw away saw after it stops cutting wood.

Is it the Zama carb or eager beaver carb kit.
@This0is0pointless Жыл бұрын
I believe the metal disk diaphragm is for the walbro, the one on this saw looks to be a zama with the plastic
@dyer2cycle Жыл бұрын
on those kits..the Walbro version of that carb and the Zama versions are very similar...however, the kits for the Walbro versions seem to be easier to find than the kits for the Zama version for some reason..maybe that kit you had was for the Walbro carb, and the carb you had was a Zama?..I believe the Walbro version is an MDC, and the Zama version is an M-7, I think...

Thanks for the video. What would be the best ratio of gas to oil for this saw? 40;1 , 50:1 or ...?
@kevinc.8869 Жыл бұрын
You gotta let em sit for a while after filling a dry tank so it has time to soak through the wick proper. Just set the saw down and go have a soft drink and come back 15 minutrs should be plenty of time.

I have a 120 that would start but wouldn't stay running. Looked like gas hose was collapsing. I learned all about taking the dang thing apart and then trying to get carb parts.

I have one of these and I’ve rebuilt the carb and tried adjusting the screws on the carb all types of ways. It will run but only for a couple seconds and then shuts off again. I took it all apart and cleaned everything including the carb. Fuel line seems to be fine and the filter in the gas tank lets out plenty of fuel. Added new fuel and everything but it won’t idle. Pretty much shuts off almost as soon as I release the throttle. Sometimes will stay running for a few seconds after letting go but ends up dying eventually. Any ideas what I should do to get it working again?

Does anyone know the exceptiable compression for a Mac 110? I measured 100psi on mine. Getting spark (seen on a spark tester). Added a little gas (40:1 mix) to cylinder... And it still will not start. Waiting on a carb rebuilt kit. Also, this thing has points... as I understood, I set the point gap to .018. Before I started working on this... it did run for about 10 seconds. Then could not restart it... Any advice would be great...

Oooh you much being filling ok ( since your messing with that ) but at least it will bring you vocabulary up-to-date by the time you get finished with it 😠😡🤬 but at least it looks clean 🤔🤔🤔 I had a heard of them but I gave them all away except one that I got from a friend who bought it new with the case . It runs but it's a shelf Queen. I hate the fuel wick thing on that thang . If I was close I'll fix you up with a kit , I have a fistful of them . I got them from eBay . Believe it or not but I have started them without putting them in the case to see if they would run , it's hard to do but it can be done as long as the tank don't fall of while running but I didn't let them run long . Most all of them I had I got for free , I wouldn't buy one of those mini , I do like the Power Mac 6 much better as long as the fuel line ain't bad , hard to find a fuel line for those .
