It definitely seems faster after I put the max 4 in. It seems faster than the rovan f5 to me. I'm guessing it can do at least 80. I'm taking it to the parking lot today so maybe we'll see!

I got lucky all things considered man. The store I bought the max 4 from is exchanging it for me so I don't have to deal with hobbywing. They don't normally do it and only doing it as a one time thing for me. When my max 4 blew up I ordered another one from Amazon just because I wasn't sure when I would get the replacement and didn't want to wait. I still don't have my replacement yet but they should be shipping it maybe monday. Hope you get yours soon bro. I went back and forth with that store until they decided to do something. I didn't want to deal with hobbywing after you told me about your story. I spend thousands of dollars with them on esc's and told them i'd walk if they didn't help me since it was brand new and basically first time I even tried to run it.

I only have real experience with the max 8 g2 sensored combo from hobbywing. It's okay but I still like castle more. I like all the esc settings castle has and the data logging is better. What do you have the xlx2 combo in?

@BeautyBeastRC ya the tuning and data logging is super fun to optimize. I'm running the 2028 1100kv in an infraction v2. Loving the zero cog on 34:34 gears. It's plenty fast for me and only pulls max 290 ish amps. Still testing but esc is and motor is insanely cool. I love it. I want to sell my max5/4985 set up for xlx2/1717 1650 on my limitless v1. Do you play around with start power? I'm on medium with 0 punch control. I was messing with throttle curve but I didn't like it for bashing, it feels like it would be good on drag race full trigger hits though.

@@Ryndel Nice! I've actually just put a castle 2028 1100kv in my limitless v2 as well. I love how cool it runs compared to the smaller tp motor I had in there originally. From my understanding, start power is for motors that are harder to "start" IE harder to turn by hand for example. I leave it on low for all castle motors because the shaft is so easy to turn. On some of my TP motor rigs I turn it to medium. It almost acts like another sort of "punch". I've actually never messed with throttle curve but maybe I should check it out one day!

@BeautyBeastRC super easy to turn. Do you find the braking is great too? Not sure if it's because of can size or what. Ya I saw a throttle curve and punch tutorial on KZfaq from a drag racer. The idea was to hit it hard out the gate and not lose traction then ramp up the speed. He said if you do it right it should look like a turbo kicked in haha. So you see road dust just kick up when the throttle ramps up. What gearing are you using on the v2? This thing is laughing at 1:1 gearing but I'm out of space so it's fine for me. Not doing speed runs yet anyways. Just into violent acceleration hah.

Did you ever try it without the sensored cable?

@@BeautyBeastRC that’s a good question… I personally didn’t I had two hobby shops work on it and I don’t know if they did or not like I said I just returned the motor but I really wanna try a tp sensored motor

@@press4258 that's interesting. Tbh I'm having trouble with one of my sensored tp motors too but I haven't confirmed if it's the motor or esc. It used to work fine but started cogging super bad and acting weird. Works fine when I unplug sensor cable. Sensored stuff seems kind of sensitive tbh and tp motors are typically so smooth sometimes I forget it's not sensored anyway.
