This man is like a machine , I wish people were more considerate about good workers like him, instead we have entitled rude people that get mad because of a little delay while people in the back are struggling to make their food during rushes. To the ones who make food for other people, you are underappreciated and unsung heros. The fact that this dude adjusts everything to make it look great even before wrapping shows he cares about what he does. Again, kudos to you. Back for a second edited comment just to say this is why we need to pay these people more. The stress alone and the speed to keep up is worth the money.

There's a certain camaraderie in the environment of jobs like these, (Be it Walmart, fast-food, similarly natured jobs,) provided you have coworkers that put forth the effort and also have a mutual sense of trust and respect for each other that is just so gratifying and loving. I don't think there will be a day that I forget my old crew at my Walmart, etc. Nailing a high paced environment with everyone working in tandem is almost fun to a degree. I almost miss the feeling of a job well done at these types of jobs. (I worked the online grocery department of my walmart when it got started. It was quite crazy. :P )

I also used to work in the online grocery section near the beginning. It kinda sucked for me though because the manager was a p.o.s who talked more than worked, and her buddies would get a pass at “talking on the job” since they were close. They also tried to take advantage of the younger crowd we had by attempting to strip away our second 15 by saying it “wasn’t mandatory”(we all worked 8 hour shifts with 1 hour lunch) so that also pissed me off. I had some co workers who were AWSOME to work with though but overall my store was tainted with suck ups and shitheads who talk smack and complain more then work. It also didn’t help that we were a neighborhood market who had a high turnover rate, so my department was constantly low on employees forcing me to dispense all day without being allowed to pick once. The co workers truly make the experience, and my experience was so Shit🤣.
@axcs_steele
@axcs_steele Жыл бұрын
@@pinheadlarry2506 I'm not sure if its just the neighborhood part that causes high turnovers, that job does blow complete ass if you don't have a good crew with a sick team lead. Mine was our store's ASM but was super cool. Chill when we had the leeway, but strict when we needed to get stuff done. Perfect mix of fun and serious. Your restaurant setup and a few procedures are so much different compared to the store I work at in Australia. Your UHC setup is so interesting like the choice to keep hotcakes in there. We pre make ours in containers and microwave when needed. Oh and what is a grittle? we also don’t have scrambled eggs or crispy bacon anymore, the sauce guns are way different, we have these mad guns that shoot at 1/3-2/3 oz. Of sauce and makes it all so much quicker. I would like to think that my restaurant has optimised a lot of procedures to make it way less of a pain than what you have to experience. And your wrapping speed is a god given ability, I’ve never seen such a quicker way to wrap before and I’m going to try and replicate as best I can. The work you do is fantastic man, nothing but love from AUS 🇦🇺

If it's a short rush, sure, go all out. If it's like a prolonged rush, several hours (and sometimes the entire day, really, not even joking, that's what a convention center location is like), I don't even bother trying to go fast. I go just fast enough to make sure I'm getting every order right and I aim for consistency and accuracy over speed. Impossible to keep up a super fast pace for eight hours straight, or even three or four for that matter.

Now I'm sure it's pretty warm over by the grill and the deep fry french fries but is that make table pretty hot with all of those trays and containers being heated is it sweaty to stand there and make some food for a couple hours at a time?
@tall_dude1233
@tall_dude1233 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, when it comes to people that are overweight and sweat easily (like myself), you just gotta wipe your sweat off on your shirt basically, without customers seeing. I worked at Wendy's in 2007 and even though I was only 19, I weighed close to 350lbs and standing over that fryer, working, was really really unbearably hot. Just that little breeze of outside air from the drive-thru window was like heaven.
