The steak egg and cheese beagle was McDonald’s all time greatest menu item, and it has disappeared.

Everything except for the sauce, is spot-on. Their sauce has a hollandaise sort of vibe, to me.

You beyond killed it, this sandwich has been reincarnated at this point. A thin sliced sirloin puck, words I never thought I'd utter, but here we are. I want this sandwich so badly, bravo

That sandwich is, in my opinion, far and away the best item McDonald's has ever created, but even though the ingredients are similar I have no doubt that your version is well beyond that even. Thanks Kev!

Always got mine with scrambled eggs instead of the folded egg and with extra breakfast sauce. I’d also get it on a biscuit most of the time.

Instead of garlic powder use onion powder and dill. Their sauce is mayo, dijon, onion powder and dry or fresh dill. And I always add a dash of black pepper because I love pepper lol

The shaped meat patty is the "Great Value Seasoned Sirloin Beef Philly Steak" from Walmart. It's exactly the same as what McDonald's uses.

Yes they have those steaks at Walmart for like $7. There are four in a pack. And they are so bomb!! I use as bagel or in a tortilla wrap

The steak is steamed with the onions on the griddle, the breakfast sauce is easy combined mayo with dill mustard. The trifold is done in a rectangular mold. The steak bagel was awesome when combined with Spanish omelet egg, or the scrambled egg from the Big Breakfast. I remember learning to make them when they came out 25 years ago.

as someone who use to work at McDonald's, just the steak you used is better than everything we got. the patties are frozen, and that trifold egg you did? yeah, those come frozen and then get steamed for about 30 seconds. you put anything McDonald's could do Into the dirt, well done 😂

I worked for McDonald's during the steak bagel days. The steak is exactly right, the thing that made it taste good was this stuff called LOR(liquid onion reduction) it was super oily and looked like old motor oil but it made it that iconic sandwich

Used to love these. They stopped doing them here in Atlanta which socks! The sausage McDuffie is still good though. This and the breakfast burrito were my favorites. Literally got me out of bed sometimes.

As a former crew trainer at McDonald's, that's exactly the kind of steak they use. As for the egg...well, it's real egg. We just never folded it ourselves. The only real egg that we "folded" was our scrambled eggs which is just pushed back and forth in a square shaped deal on the grill, on the teflon mat we'd place down. But this is almost assuredly better than the bagels we made. I do miss them, though.

I don't have a sirloin cut. I have machine tenderized round steak. Since someone suggested it I thought to soak one in some distilled vinegar. Cow milk would be fine if I wasn't allergic to it. Milk is a natural tenderizer..so is vinegar or lemon juice. I'll cook it later. If it gets a little sour that's fine with me but it'll be fork tender.
