It's insane to know it's been 4 years since they closed. I always wanted to go to Toys R Us every time my family drove past it, only ever been there 2-4 times, loved it each time. Honestly miss that store so much

It's a damn shame that this place will never give the children of this day and age the feeling of going in to get the toys you really want

It really has a way of making you feel old when your past is not just out of style but is literally disappearing.

Although online shopping is convenient, I miss stores like this. I used to take the kids there when they were little, and it was such an amazing experience for them. Like you said, there was any toy imaginable there!

Im 12...almost 13....ill never forget the magic the sparkle in my eye....the feeling of walking into toys r us....i went there twice a year if i was lucky 3 times. Its saddening to see that now most kids dont even play with toys anymore "IM TO OLD FOR TOYS" or "TOYS ARE FOR BABIES", NO TOYS ARE FOR EVERYONE! I WILL NEVER FORGET TOYS R US AND I WILL ALWAYS! 8:33 That sad face says it all :( I miss the times me and my dad went to Toys R Us when we were both collecting action figures back in the 1990's and 2000's :) Heck, I was collecting in my 20s and early 30s back then and we enjoyed the thrill of seeing what they had in stock every time we went and hoped they had the newest series of figures needed :D

My town was also one of the lucky few who had a Toy’s R Us. Knowing that future kids will grow up joy even knowing the store ever even existed makes me depressed man.

This is so heartbreaking. I have numerous fond memories of Toys R Us. This is the truest sign of the end of the brick and mortar retailer era. Just sad how there's really no more communal gathering spots like this anymore. I would really love to see a retail store renaissance, and see a big spike in people wanting to go to brick and mortar stores again.

Toys R Us and KB Toys were my childhood looking in the newspaper to get the mini magazines for these places and the commercials and Cartoons. This brings back nostalgia on a level unexplained. Like literally I'm 8 again

Wow Five years now. The Toys я us Store was my childhood. Like even though Amazon is like Toys я Us its sad its gone.

The other crazy part to think about is all the equipment and manufacturing facilities that will suffer as a result of them going out of business.... There are millions of dollars tied up in making the toy specifically for them, at a large scale, and now that theyre gone those machines have to be shut down and the workers laid off... It's very sad. Stores shutting down also effects production cost and causes hired labor to go unemployed.

I remember my Dad used to take me there to get any toy I wanted , walking up and down the isles for hours trying to find the perfect toy. It’s makes me cry to know that Toys R Us is closing down forever.

I remember when I was small and visiting that place felt like a child's dream. It shattered me when I heard they were closing. Toys R Us...thank you for all the memories. From toys to video games, it was amazing.

I remember spending so much time trying to find the perfect toy to bring home and the only time I came to a toys r us store was when toy story was popular so I literally got a woody and buzz lightyear toy/figurine and it makes me cry because I only saw it once and only went in one once in my whole life and that was it, it just shut down in my childhood :/ *crying uncontrollably*

I live in Binghamton New York and when i went there, it was my dream or “the best day ever thank you mommy!” I now am 11 so this brings back lots of sad and happy memories… Now, its a dumb ocean state job lot

I have watched a lot of these Toys R Us abandoned videos… “they’re non existent” “we’ll never see them again” Just cross the border into Canada!!! They still thrive here! Still open for business, still have the same exterior designs.. etc… nothing has really changed for them here in Canada.

I worked for Toys R Us Germany, since March 2019 we are now Smyth Toys. Smyth Toys bought all Toys R Us stores in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and took over all employees. We were lucky but still I miss Toys R Us. A bit of childhood has died.

Took me a second to recognize this location but this my my old hometown area Toys R Us! I know there's a HUGE nearly defunt shopping mall in the background and right around the corner from the store was where a Borders books used to be. Both were back-to-back stops for me after work at least twice a week. Miss those days so much as well as my hometown, right by the Airplane (those of you from the area will get that reference) Thanks so much Kyle, never thought I'd see this bit of my personal history again!

My brother, Jacob, Elinor, and I used to go to a Toys R Us on Cicero Avenue in Chicago, Scottsdale, Illinois. That store went out of business years ago and I miss everything that is in the store, especially the Hot Wheels cars that once sold there. I'll never forget what Toys R Us looks like on both inside and out.

My parents would always take me there after I got a shot. Once, my parents got the giraffe to “call me” on the phone, and I was so excited! So many memories 🤍

I have never shopped at that Toys R Us , however I have shopped a lot at a few different ones close to my area. I loved Christmas shopping there because if you wanted a certain toy or game and could not find it anywhere else, you could almost always find it there. The staff was always very helpful and polite. I really miss that store 😢.

I was always begging my parents to take me there, It was awesome I just feel like a huge part of my childhood is gone.

I loved going to Toys R Us as a kid! That and looking through the Sears catalog with a marker picking out the stuff I wanted for Christmas.

its just so sad that it closed. its been 5 years, but i still remember that one day when i wanted to go to toys r us. there was a sign saying “closing soon” and i just thought it was put up by a random person and all was all fake. but about a month later, i went to toys r us again. no one was in the parking lot. no one was in front of the building. just a few pallets and metal scraps in front. it looked like it was really, truly closed. i thought only for one day, but no. the next day i came back, still closed. so me and my parents decided to go to a different one. yet it was still closed, no matter which toys r us we went to, they were all closed. toys r us was one of the biggest part of my childhood. they didn’t deserve bankruptcy or anything like that. and now look at it, ruined and dead. its just too sad. i still remember the last toy i bought- a toy train set.

Its a shame bc i remember seeing my old toys R us shut their doors and also seeing the demolition of the store, truly heart breaking

It’s so crazy what this generation has done because I saw this 8 year old walking around with a phone 2x the size of her hand. Sometimes I wish we could go back to the old days where technology wasn’t that big and nobody was on there phone 24/7 I don’t know it’s actually crazy to think about.

When it closed here in UK it was the end of an Era. My son loved going he’s a wagon driver now the first digger he had was from ToysRus . Great nostalgia ❤🇬🇧

How I miss the 90's. I have such fond memories of running around here with my brother, lost in our own magical wonderland of toys and trying to look at everything at once. To think there are children who will never exprience that feeling and children who don't even play with toys makes me so sad. So glad I grew up in the time I did and not in the 'technology' era.

I was a kid in the 80s and absolutely loved going to ToysRUs! I'd go for crayons/colouring books, action figures, Legos, TMNT, and in the late 80s/early 90s it was for original NES video games. I even shopped there well into my adult years. It was a sad sad day when they closed, and I got some good deals on the Nickelodeon line of TMNT figures that were out at the time. My wife and I still have the very last thing we bought there before they closed. I'm glad to see them in Macy's stores, but I'm hoping they get another brick and mortar store in the future.

September 26 1996 is when I came to America and I remember bugging my parents to go into that colorful building and finally they took me and 6 of siblings and each of us had to get one toy..... it was one of the best feelings for a 7 yr girl ,I’m very sadden by this because now my kids won’t experience it ...#MissedButNeverForgotten Thank you Toys R Us for the great memories

It had rides, a bunch of toys (of course), colorful lights everywhere, and it was huge, etc. But then they replaced it with a Disney gift shop so I had to go to a different one, then it closed down. 😢😭.
