What an awesome assembly for a cast, no special effects not even any color LOL just an excellent assortment that made everybody fall in love what the crew of the PT 73, who wouldn't want to be on McHale's boat lol Tim Conway as Ensign Parker and knocked it out of the park, good clean family fun and the show will live forever and ever because they were having so much fun when they were filming it, and you can tell godspeed Tim Conway and the crew of the PT 73, you will always be endeared to all Americans as our brave Frontline fighting small boat Navy crew

ALL OF THESE VARIOUS OLDER CLASSIC TV EPISODES ARE REALLY GREAT TO SEE ONCE AGAIN SO MANY YEARS AFTER THE DAYS OF OUR YOUTH WITH MANY NOW VERY WELL KNOWN ACTORS BEFORE THEY REACHED THEIR ULTIMATE FAME - THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR FINDING AND POSTING THEM HERE.

I believe that Lester Gruber (Carl Ballintine), was at his very best, in this episode. Lester, always kept everything stirred up, and undeniably, was the "organizer", for much of the mayhem, that ensues, in these episodes!.........

Great TV show and the later movie. One of the things I really like is how Joe Flynn plays 'CAPT. Binghamton' along with the Screenwriting for his lines, as he offers a foil for 'McHale' and the others, phrases like 'cutthroats', and 'pirates' and the slapstick comedy between him and Tim Conway (Ensign Parker) when doors open in his face/body, objects get knocked around, or spilt, etc. He always seems to get drenched in water or blown up, his glasses knocked askew and so on.

Lt. Carpenter was also a PT skipper. Wonder where his xo hung out. Ens. Parker was always with McHale.

I think we see him in one or two of these early episodes, but in later seasons the idea of Carpie having his own boat got left in drydock.

Actually the actress Sherry O'Neil who played the homely War reporter was actually an extremely attractive woman with a nice figure.

It's a crime what the Navy did to all those PT boats at the end of the war.

Well, it was cheaper than shipping them back and because they were mostly plywood, they would've gone to rot in a few years without intensive maintenance. But, I understand your concern. If you want to see a couple of real WWII PT boats, some are on display at Falls River, MA with USS Massas... and some other musuem ships.

It's a crime that the elite have been sending the poor off to die for thousands of years. The slave masters do this only to gain more control more slaves because they don't now nor have they ever known how to do anything at all other than cheat, rob, lie, poison, enslave and kill the people who actually make the world work, the working class. Until the world is controlled by the actual people who do the work everything will be broken as it has been.

They took the engines, 3 Packards it said & parts...it would be nice to see them. One of us, not me, should build a little fleet of them for families to visit. I'd love to come across that in a desert, maybe AZ...saw some planes there once

And yet I love him. He's an acquired taste I suppose, but he ain't marmite, surely? Ah well, I guess you either like the Bilko-style fast-talking schtick or you don't. It's my cup of tea. Incidentally, took me a few eps to realise that Tinker is actually Papparelli from Bilko's platoon. How'd I miss that I dunno.
