McHale's Navy Full Episodes: Season 2x14 |"My Ensign, the Lawyer"
Tinker is arrested for the theft of Binghamton's printing press, and the Captain taps Parker to be Tinker's defense counsel in a trial which Binghamton himself will preside over. Parker and McHale must then stall the proceedings, while Gruber and the crew execute a plan to get Tinker off the hook with a bit of creative evidence-tampering.

McHale's navy was so funny what a blast that show was. I never did get to see the shows that where done in Italy. It wasn't the most accurate detail WW-2 show by a long shot but it was a hoot none the less. I love how they constantly pulled the wool over captain Bingleton.

I thought this slapstick humour would be too outdated and tiresome but it's proved to be refreshingly naive and rather funny. I have watched, at least, 20 episodes so far. Most entertaining. Thank you for the chance to watch Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway at their funniest with Joe Flynn being at the brunt of all their jokes. What a treat!

***** I think you are right. What is mentioned in Wikipedia really seems strange. Joe Flynn was everything else than a fopdoodle. About "Gomer Pyle, USMC". To me Frank sutton was the headliner. James Beck from "Dad's Army" also died strange, suddenly and period! Be that as it may. There were many lovely TV series, especially from UK.

4 or 5 times during the series, usually at episodes end, Flynn tosses in throwaway lines about Borgnine winning an Oscar, usually something like "some Oscar winner, you call that acting?" @JV-pu8kx

Borgnine originally did not want to do television. He changed his mind when he found out that people did not know who he was, despite having won an Oscar. Being in a television series would fix that.

The problem I had with McHale's Navy was the lack of racial diversity. The U.S. military in TV sitcoms was always integrated, even in the 1950's with" Sgt. Bilko" and with military episodes of the The Andy Griffith Show. The military was certainly one place that wasn't restricted to "Whites only."

I guess just like at Harvard, and academia in general, Fuji is the 'wrong kind' of racial diversity, even though the Chinese were slaves in California in the 1800s, and even as late as the 1940s Japanese - Americans were imprisoned in internment camps.
