McIntosh MC462 + C53

Got the new McIntosh MC462 power amplifier and C53 preamp all hooked up last month. Speaker are JBL Synthesis 4367. This isn't a sound demo, phone mic does not capture how it sound in person, not even 5% of sound.

Nice video! I picked up an MC452 for a great price just as the MC462 was being released. It replaced a pair of MC2205 running mono. What an amazing improvement! Quad-Balanced and the ultra-low noise floor makes for an amazing listening experience. Plenty of power to push my XRT-28 speakers to levels that brings my neighbor across the street over for a listen. My upgrade-itis ended for good the moment the beast was turned on! I am set for life! Great to hear Acoustic Alchemy too! BRAVO!

I ordered a C53 and am still waiting for it. In the meantime I found a MC462 and picked it up. Can't wait to hear them thru my Kef Reference 1's.

literally just ordered that kit...only with a MCT500 Transport and a dCS Rossini DAC.... mated to McIntosh XR50 baby speakers... can't wait. they're telling me a month or more wait!

Noticed that there is some lag between the pre amp and power amp meters. Is this lag noticeable if you play something like a movie for example? I'm looking to get a c2700 and mc462

Quick question Taylor. I have the exact combination. When the mc462 is on, there is an audible hum from the amplifier. There is no hum from the c2700. Do you get the same?

I just received the C2700 and the MA462 few days ago. The MC462 is dead quiet, no hum.

Sounds like you have a ground loop. One way to get around it is to use balanced cables.

Hello Taylor, Please advise if I could pair these McIntosh C53 & MC462 with a pair of Revel F328 speakers? Do you think that this combination will sound good? Thanks.

Richard De Gannes my friend has a pair of revel ultima salon2. He uses the exact same combo of amp and pre as me. Revel speaker’s tend to have a lot in common with each other. I have no doubt the match would be an excellent one!

@@Taylor-oe7zx Thanks & Regards, The Revel's F328Be are 8 ohm speakers and should be alot easier to drive than the Salon 2.
