She should have keyed it up. She couldn't hit those low notes at the beginning so it was monotone and flat. She just growled the notes. Why did the judges not even mention that?

She shouldn't have. She sang in a key that was too low at the beginning for her to handle. So she was monotone and flat.

you should listen to Zoe Levert's version on The Voice. It aired like one week ago and is better than this version imo. I love Mckenna's husky tone though.

In order to win, she needs to cover instantly recognizable standards like she did with "The Story", or "Both Sides Now". Blue Eyes Cryin' In the Rain, I Fall To Pieces, Blue Bayou, The Sound of Silence, The First Time Ever..., and so on are perfect for Mckenna's voice. Idol producers give great songs to choose from to those they hope will win. Great singers, Mckenna, is a great singer, don't get quite the choice of others. But a couple others (not to be named), seem to be who producers want in the final 3.

purring that rasp into the mic, working the camera. Lost a few notes in the lower, but so much passion, power in her midrange. Loved how the band increased the drama, let her sing her heart out. And she did.
