Doctors must determine why a retiring ballerina (Gillian Jacobs) passes out every time she eats.
From Royal Pains Season 1 Episode 2 'There Will Be Food' - An investor withdraws his support for Jill's free clinic, so she gets drunk on champagne and gives Hank the box of letters from people she had wanted to help. Elsewhere, Evan's romantic evening with a ballerina is disrupted when she appears to have an allergic reaction to the food.
Royal Pains (2009) Dr. Hank Lawson is dismissed from his job after he is wrongly accused for the death of a hospital benefactor. He meets Boris, who advises him to become the resident doctor of the resort owned by him.

I had it for 6 months of anxiety before doctors stopped saying I had an eating disorder. Could hardly keep anything down and lost a stone. Felt awful.

@@hannahnicholas6638 yeah, my SIL threw up everything for 9 months. Ended up in hospital twice for dehydration with baby #3. I just can’t believe she went through that twice (baby 2 and 3… pregnancy with the 1st was ok).

I’m not a mother, but I think I’d rather have constant morning sickness while pregnant over eating some food and fainting at random while pregnant. And the sudden cardiac arrest is especially scary, even for a few seconds.

I don't see anything odd about it. She obviously fed herself somehow up to this point - she's not skeletal, and had enough energy and muscle strength to keep dancing. Ballet is hard work! She looked like she enjoyed having somebody feed her a few bites of foods that she's never allowed herself to eat. I know very well what it's like to have a contentious relationship with food, as she said (I'm 30 lbs underweight); honestly, it's sweet to allow someone else to say, "It's ok, you can do this". Like a permission that she hasn't been able to give herself.

To be honest I found that passing out is scarier for the people witnessing it than for the one passing out. I have an iron deficiency and I faint quite often so most of the time I can tell it's going to happen and it just feels like sleeping, if I'm alone I will just "wake up" and continue with my day like nothing happened 😂

It's tough on the body. Puts it in positions that aren't natural - particularly in the hips and the back. As "perfect posture" a ballerina may seem, it's really not...

They might not be able to carry on dancing, but many professional dancers go on to teach or choreograph, so it is possible for dance to still be a part of their lives ☺️

💗That this episode had a classical dancer with "food issues" & the main issue didn't turn out to be an eating disorder! I mean, yes, as a Ballerina, she would've been pushed to keep her weight down quite severely, but this was fascinating.

Lmfao, I wish it took less than a week to recover from pacemaker surgery. Mine took 3 months, and you can’t lift your elbow above your shoulder or a certain weight at all during that time. I don’t think ripping out the leads in your heart and bleeding out internally is worth a dance recital 😅

A cardiologist can put a pacemaker in under light sedation?! Ummm, I’ve had 4 pacemakers put in, it’s not a major surgery, as in open heart, but it’s a decent surgery with a good recovery time. Your under like any other surgery 🙄🤦‍♀️
