@@mechanyu71.03 in pve it works ok in any of the games, usually the issue comes from not having good miracles at all for the first half of most of them. For pvp though, theyre usually bad and fall short against decent players. Only real exceptions to that rule is lightning arrow since you can hold it infinitely, and tranquil walk of peace since that removes your opponets ability to run or roll

To be fair, they were also kind of ignored in DS2 The Gyrm/Dwarves and Giants have so much cut content it's absurd

That's actually because bloat is what killed DS2. Tomohiro Shibuya, its first director, was WAY too ambitious. Made a whole new engine and countless assets which cost a ton, and then as it turned out, none of the consoles could run it. Only a $5000 rig could. This was 2 months away from the game's launch. So then they kicked Shibuya and put Yui Tanimura on it. Tanimura is a veteran just like Miyazaki, so he basically worked overtime often free of charge. Dumbed down the engine, re-used all the assets (because Namco didn't give him budget for new ones kek), and reshaped the entire game. This is why it's so unfinished and why the gameplay often suffers in quality and why enemies are out of place. There was simply no time, and nothing but re-used assets. Hence, elephants at knightly medieval European based castles.

Most of these enemies were Aldia's creations so it doesn't really need further lore, Giants have a dark sign on them and also turn into trees, meaning they were actually not real giants but humans from a far away land that became corrupted by the dark sign and then started to become wood (Like the undeads in dark souls 3 where there are tons of wooden enemies), you can find corpses of these giants in Aldia's mansion where you discover how he discovered about Gwyn's lies by dissecting the Giants, real giants are the ones like Yhorm, Wolnir, the Giants in the cathedral of the depth and so on, while "human" giants mutated by the dark sign are also considered giants because of Drangleic never meeting an actual giant...

DS2 is set in an entirely different locale from DS1 and DS3.

I got it in ng in a faith build, from that heide knight in the gutter. The funny thing is it has less requirements than the heide spear. Might be a vanilla/sotfs thing.

Use Dark Fog or run downstairs and shoot arrows. That's how I dealt with them in my No Death No Bonfire Run.

Elden Ring must have both for it to be the best FromSoft game. They have crabs, all they need is elephants. Supposedly there’ll be both a snow area (mammoths) and a desert area (normal) so they have two chances to not fuck it up.

@@DenseMass yeah but you can BECOME crab in DS2! (Aka malformed claws) Clearly superior Fun fact: We found in DS2 data that there were supposed to have giant lobsters in the game but was sadly cut. The “malformed claws” are a remnant of this creature. So technically, DS2 has started the crustaceans enemy type which DS3 stole. XD

@@DenseMass na man, they look nothing alike except for being claws and they don’t have any link to each other in any shape or form. Even the description say that they are from crustacean which I believe scorpions aren’t. You may be talking about the Black Scorpion Stinger which obviously comes from a scorpion. But it’s a totally different weapon.
