This is a message for us non-celebrities too. Know your worth when it comes to a job/position. Lay your credentials on the table and always aim high. Always! Edit: I just want to add: Experience, work tenure and Education does matter. From my experience, when you hold certain degrees, people don’t even want to insult you with a low offer. If the offer is too low or non-negotiable, walk away!

People have been saying Tyler Perry paid them their worth well before Monique. She’s the only person to this day that said Tyler Perry did her wrong👀. Monique beef was with Lee Daniel. It was his project and then Oprah and Tyler jumped on the movie so I’ve always felt like they just inherited his wrong doings.

Acting is "gig" work. No different than our regular jobs. We switch jobs as actor's/actresses switch roles. The only difference is that their job is highlighted as being better and more glamorous because the media portrays they are better than us because they're on TV and movies...but they are switching jobs and fighting for more money like the rest of us.

Although she is not a heavy hitter in the field she is a very well known actress. This interview definitely made me respect her and her craft. At least she’s not avoiding these interviews due to misquotes etc. and is speaking intelligently about what’s going on. TP does cast well and I see why he uses Meagan. She’s a real one!

No matter what you think of him, he paid her what she asked for.. it made her feel good and valued as an actress.. that’s what matters…: it’s all that matters… why didn’t all the other powerful men in Hollywood pay her what she felt she deserve.. he did more than anyone else throughout her 30 year career…
