I'm all about quick and easy; so here's another in my series of meals in a jar. Chicken Pot Pie. Just add cream of chicken soup, heat it up, top with a couple of biscuits and done. I know it is a bit long, but I've included some additional information. Hope you enjoy!

OK. Just got my canner for Christmas and have been combing KZfaq for recipes and learning. So I canned chicken, ground beef, and wanted to make a Chicken vegetable starter jar like you did. When I cooked it, I used the broth in the jar, added more broth and made a rue, then added the chicken and vegetables, put drop biscuits on top and stuck it in the oven. OMG! It was so good! And very easy for a week night after work. This is my first and favorite recipe! I will make tons of this! Thanks for sharing!!

I am so going to check check out some of these. I'm going to go watch burrito in a jar next. New subscriber here. I like what you said you do you. I just started canning last year. I love watching doing it. So exciting to save foods. Teaching my kids 8 and 4. I am going to start canning on my KZfaq channel Cooking on the Farm. God bless to you and yours.

That's great, they are never too young to learn! I'll have to check out your channel, it's always good to see different people and their ideas. I used to just can the basics, but watching others can different things has opened new doors. God Bless

I usually don't use sage to season when I can things because sometimes, it can turn bitter. Safer to add a pinch when heating the food up.

Yes, you're right, I have read that sage could turn bitter when can. Thinking I'll probably take your advice in the future and add when eating. Thanks!

Being as I can only for one these days, I know what you mean about the smaller portions and pre-made meals. It's a lot less waste that way and saves money in the long run. Besides, cooking a meal from scratch for only one person, is hard ...

Yes you can. I usually layer whenever I can so that I get equal portions in each jar, but you can mix it all and then fill your jars, no problem.
