Use this in all your homemade noodle or creamy dish recipes. Replaces canned goods for casseroles as well. Cut out the chemicals in your pantry. Blessings!

Quick Tip: I mix all of the ingredients for my "Cream of Whatever Soup Mix in a large stainless steel bowl. (Any suitably sized bowl will work.) Then mix thoroughly with a wire whisk. Use a canning funnel and a scoop to transfer to storage jar(s). Quick Tip: Don't add anything to the basic mix that will limit its use in a wide variety of recipes. I leave out things like dry mustard that can easily be added at the time of use. Whatever it's worth... I've been making this mixture for years. Have always used Instant Non-Fat Dry Milk with good success.

We are deeply appreciative for your vids especially meals in a jar. My son has Celiac so gluten free is a way of life. He is sensitive to other foods like you to corn & lactose intolerant. Living in southern Texas we experience hurricanes during the summer. There may be power outages & sometimes no safe drinking water. We dehydrating & can since his food choices are limited. I've not seen anyone else who preps/preserves with gf issues in mind.Your vids are wonderful resource thanks for making & sharing. :)

Terri D It seems when you have Celiacs it affects other food tolerances. I also have Latex intolerance and some fruits are of the same genetic makeup of the latex tree, like bananas for example and kiwi. I am intolerant to tuna and crab ... but not lobster or shrimp. Not sure...my dad was the same way. When I want to be lactose free, I just add some lactose free milk to other reg. milks and that usually does it for me. You should try my GF flour mix and use that to make our GF pancakes. OH MY! The best pancakes and you can't tell they are GF. GF is easy if you just learn to exchange noodles or soups for gf versions and add the lactose free milk to sauces. It has changed my life. I'm as pain-free as I have ever been. :)

Stir often so the bottom doesn't burn (milk does this easilty)...and add more water or broth to make the consistancy you like. This even makes a great white gravy if thicker and use less water. Add some sausage and YUM!

I drink walmart's great value 'lactose-free' milk...it comes whole (in the red) and 2% (in the blue). For lactose free, I can not get my powdered milk anymore...so I have to use powdered almond, coconut or other,... soy is good but I'm also very allergic to soy! So, I can't take that route...err--!! I had a hard time finding it and I actually found it on ebay from a family in MICHIGAN! LOL>> I bought only the 2 cans. LDS cannery has larger can of it and other 'Prepper dried foods" companies carry it as well. This was Nestle' brand so I'm sure they'd sell it off their sites. Try walmart ONLINE and maybe they too would sell it via home delivery. Hope this helps.

@OurLittleHomestead
@OurLittleHomestead 6 жыл бұрын
Hello! Yes, you can use this for the 'base' of all cream soups and cream mixes as well...like scalloped potatoes. I'd add some powdered cheese to the mixture...about 1/3 cheese to 2/3 cream mixture...see how that is to start with...I would do broccoli the same way...I'd add a handful of freeze dried broccoli or dehydrated...or even later when opened add fresh to this soup mix and add about 3 Tbs of cheddar cheese powder to that...for a 'cheesy broccoli soup mix'. I'm NOT a broccoli fan! Sorry! LOL! I'm not a brussel sprouts fan either. Since hubby won't eat them either...I never have it at the house or in RV! LOL!

Also you send a video you said we could add a little powdered egg powder or cheddar cheese powder, Or ground mustard for other ingredients. {But that's up in the air and very confusing} . How much of it do you use? Do you use all three together??Looking forward to hearing from you

It is easy and just put through the blender or coffee mill and viola! Powdered cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, butter, etc...!!! OR...you can buy it on websites in USA. Not sure about Aussie land though!?? But yeah, just dehydrate the lowfat verions and make it yourself.

I don't know if you know but people that are lactose intolerant can drink raw cows milk. I know people today freak out and think there's something bad about raw cows milk but if you find a dairy with good cleaning practices you have no worries. I do know that when milk is pasteurized and homogenized it not only takes the beneficial enzymes but the fat structure is changed too. If you go to www.realmilk.com they have a lot of information that will help you plus they have a milk finder where you can find a (most are organic trying to stay away from gmo feeds and pumping their animals up with all kinds of shots). My friend hadn't had milk in over 10 years due to her gallbladder removed, when she had store bought milk it would bloat her up and made her feel ill. She is now happy and content drinking raw cows milk and it doesn't cause her to get sick. While at the website read the history as to why pasteurization and homogenization started, you know people survived 1000s of years before they started doing that and also a lot of other countries don't allow it. Another thing, I've seen a lot of videos that dehydrate cows milk, that's next on my list to try. Thank you Janie for your great videos!

Laura Beattie I pretty sure that not all people who are lactose intolerant will be able to drink raw milk. one anedotal does equate scoence. I have no problem with raw if kept properly and used immediately ... but there is no shelf life. Not all lactose issues are because we pasturize milk.

@OurLittleHomestead
@OurLittleHomestead 9 жыл бұрын
Good question; I should have covered this better! About instant/non-instant milk: I've been told by those whom use a lot of powdered milk that if you put instant milk powder in a blender and blend it until it's more finely "powdered" than it is, you CAN then use the same measurements as the non-instant milk. It seems that the larger "chunks" of powder cause a difference in the amount you're using and can taste burnt in the recipe (burns on bottom of pan when heating longer) - which is logical as the more finely powdered non-instant is more compact than the larger instant milk powders. Also, it's about taste. Whole milks give a more realistic taste of milk to your foods and you have more of a 'fresh' tasting dish. I'm sure there are more reasons...but this is what I've discovered. Hope this helps, hen! Blessings!
