Really enjoyed your reaction. IMO no one can bring on the feelings like ML and Steinman. They just suck me into a vortex there’s no other way to explain it. Celine version is technically very lovely and I get why people like it. ML is a whole different universe, a force of nature , and his productions are magical. The “movies” as you say and also the quality of his musicians and backup singers. RIP.

No one sings this as well as Meat. He was SO brilliant.

Meatloaf always thought that Jim should have given this song to him instead of Celine Dion. He also always thought that it should be a duet, and thats why this version exists.

Actually, the song WAS written for Meatloaf but constant scheduling conflicts prevented him and Jim from being able to do it in the 1990s. It wasn't until the early 2000s, after Celine Dion's record label got the song for her and she released it, that Jim and Meatloaf were able to reunite and do this song as it was ALWAYS meant to be, a duet.

Meatloaf’s is thee best version. Jim Steimans music was written virtually exclusively for Meatloaf

Apart from the stuff Jim wrote for Bonnie Tyler

Fun fact about the song was Meat Loaf was pretty angry at Jim Steinman for giving the song to Celine Dion but when he heard the song for the first time Meat cried, saying it was the only time that's ever happened as it brought back all the memories of his love for Jim. I feel that Jim dying broke Meat's heart and contributed to his eventual "madness" and lowered immune system which resulted in his death from covid

Meat Passed on this song which is why Celine did it

When Jim Steinman wrote this song meat passed on it so celine sang it, meat then said he was wrong so wanted to do a version of it
@driftmaster12 ай бұрын
incorrect meatloaf did not pass on it and celine’s version is a cover coming roughly a decade after it was done by Pandora’s Box
