Allergy is a possibility, if she ate something she shouldn't have (swollen throat). In which case benadryl or any more potent anti-allergy medication would still be far more effective - and safe - than a hook through the tongue. Lol

I know I don't leave home without it definitely not out in a fish shack with no allergy relief except a fish hook!? Talk about being unprepared. Or prepared depending on whether your looking at it from the point of view of a sane person actually trying to help or the torture artist masquerading as helpful.

agreed, if they had three backboards how is there not enough rigs to take at least I don't know the two on the ground out of there? Where is the extra units for a mass casualty either? I really want to know what they're paying the guy to be the "advisor" for this show, he must be the guy that does military programs too.

I'm a plumber, and regularly use a Sawzall to cut through galvanized steel and cast iron pipes anywhere from a half inch to 6 inches in diameter. I can personally confirm that the metal is cool enough to touch even two inches from the blade throughout the entire process, no cooling necessary.

The tongue thing is legit battlefield medicine. Usually for traumatic facial injuries where the patient is unconscious. Not really applicable for a situation where you can reach a properly equipped hospital within a reasonable time frame.

It's now frowned upon because they now have magical devices called OPA's which will hold the tongue forward in the unresponsive patient. And for the responsive one, recovery position, jaw thrust, and away you go! 😉

The most unrealistic thing is an ambulance going 90. Any squad I've ever worked in has trouble hitting 80...downhill...with a tail wind.... But then again, I don't run in a major city with that weird thing called "funding". Anyways, great video as always and stay safe out there!

I have literally laughed my dang fool head off at these review vids. I have watched every season of the original ‘Emergency’ and had the greatest respect for the realism of that show. It’s too bad we don’t have more accurate dramas. But, it does give great fodder for these hilarious reviews!!

Emergency is the only medical drama I like to watch even though it’s 51 years old. R. A. Cinader made sure it was very accurate for the time, plus it shows the history of the paramedic program. Kevin Tighe and Randy Mantooth even went through the paramedic training in preparation for their roles.

There have been quite a few shows that people have tried to get me to watch where i refused to watch after the 2 episode because of the utter lack of knowledge. Friends then asked why and i just break out the books and show them the pictograms of just how wrong those shows are. That said there are a few friend that know the shows are terrible for those reasons and have set up drinking games
