Mechanical Orchestra - Deltarune "Attack of the Killer Queen" (Cover)

The sounds in this song were entirely produced by Mechanical instruments with a little post-processing magic. The included instruments are a Tesla Coil, Pneumatic valves, Floppy Drives, Reays, and a Solenoid.
The software for this project can be found at github.com/DJthefirst/Mechani...
I am in the process of writing documentation for release but if you are interested create an issue on GitHub and I will help you make your own instruments. Tutorials and more information on this project will eventually be posted.

It’s Pneumatic solenoids that chop air into sound waves giving it an 8-bit sound. Each glowing exhaust is connected to a valve.

@@eclastodoesvideos I will have to look at those I currently have Keygen church on the list but for a lot of the ultrakill songs its not simple to build instruments to produce all of the complex sounds and tracks without the mix sounding muddy. It might be a yr or so before I come back around to them.

Those are the floppy drives passed through a few Guitar Compression Pedals to make it sound fuller.

interesting to see at 0:55 how the instruments seems unable to glide around the notes. do you happen to know where the limitation comes from?

Can you better define "glide"? Each instrument has a limited range that can be played before the motors can't spin fast enough to hit the note or it sounds like clicking on the low end. A limitation of the software is each note is a value in a lookup table. So some parts of the song might have pitch bends removed as the in-between frequencies can't be played. I am looking into potential solutions for this but the 3-4$ microcontrollers driving multiple instruments at a time are not fast enough to play arbitrary frequencies.

@@DJthefirst by "glide" i mean the note transitions, yes, like starting in one pitch and ending in another without pause. perhaps making a step function solution in the instruments or interpolating notes in the midi could be a workaround, but there's lots of different dynamics to deal with in other songs other than just the glide and trebble and stuff, so idk much about it x.x

In what way? The bass is a bit loud but other than that I think it’s fairly balanced.

@@DJthefirst Hm. On my initial listen, I found the treble uncomfortably loud, but when listening again, I didn't have a problem with it. Aside from the overly heavy bass, maybe there's a lack of action in the mid range? That would be an issue with composition, though, not mixing.
