The scissor lift mechanism is really cool. Being new to Technic, how do you control the speed of the motor without gears? Potentiometer? Not Lego standard?
@redshoebox
@redshoebox 3 жыл бұрын
I have a LEGO battery pack that has a dial on it, by turning the dial you can increase or decrease speed. Unfortunately LEGO stopped producing them a while ago, so the next best thing to adjust speed without gears is to use an infrared sensor connected to a train remote, since LEGO train remotes also have dials on them to control speed.
@bbrachman
@bbrachman 3 жыл бұрын
@@redshoebox I never understood why Lego would simply discontinue an item that seems to be an excellent part. Rechargeable with variable speed. Ebay has a few but the prices are prohibitive. For me, I just want a simple off/on battery pack with variable speed. No USB, no wireless, no bluetooth. I wonder if there are independents making these and selling them. Knowing Lego, they would be shut down so fast....
@redshoebox
@redshoebox 3 жыл бұрын
@@bbrachman Yeah, it's a shame that LEGO discontinued the variable speed battery pack, it was probably because the battery pack is part of the power functions line, and LEGO discontinued the entire power function line altogether. I know 3rd party companies make LEGO compatible battery packs, but they require a mobile device to be controlled and often are high in price.
