The first car you said that cylinder one blew up. In the 80s I worked for a shop that also did towing I towed in a dodge Colt with a grapefruit sized hole in the block he asked what happened so I said the engine blew up he was an old guy from Mass. Well about 6 months later I received a call from the Mass FBI asking about the car I told him the engine blew up and he asked what I meant so I explained to him what had happened and he says well the owner had called and said someone had placed a bomb in his engine we both got a good laugh out of that. True story

It continues to amaze me what the real mechanics go through on a daily basis when customers fix their own vehicles or wait until the automobile they are driving fall apart then bring it in for repairs. Do people even understand how long mechanics go to school for fixing these extremely perplexing auto's people are driving today? Next time you get your vehicle fixed make sure to thank the mechanics for keeping you safe and fixing your automobile right the first time. Stop trying to fix your own vehicle, let the professionals do it right. 👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Most mechanics are top notch and have worked for many years doing it right. If you like your mechanic, ask for the same person every time. If you don't like the way your auto was fixed shop around. Thank again!!!!

I once owned a 1980 Camaro that the floor was so rotted the guy I bought it from pulled the seats and bolted some 4x4’s across the farm then bolted the seats to the 4x4, you could literally watch the driveshaft spinning, sucked real bad when it was raining especially if you went through a puddle, and it also had hardly any brakes so I would just rub the tires against a curb to help me stop, but man was it fast and at 16 years old that’s all I cared about

@Mechanical Nightmare @2:02 I had a friend who had a small red Yaris who he got brand new from a car shop and while he was taking me for a ride it started to make a loud Reeeeeee noise when he sped up followed by several loud bangs we rang up to get a tow truck and took his car to the Mechanic and told him what happened. When he took the clutch off the metal plates fell out and onto the ground meaning they’ve broke off their mounts and the bearings had no grease and were extremely rusty explaining the loud Reeeeeee noise another thing the Mechanic noticed is there was a groove in the pad where the clutch was engaged meaning one of the plates was bent or broken along with a fracture in the clutch housing caused by the clutch plates breaking off. But there’s a happy ending to this story he got the clutch and bearings replaced and he also sued the car shop he got his car from for the rusty bearings and broken clutch plate

@@chrisburn7178 "Freedom to drive" does not mean freedom to drive an unsafe vehicle. I was a licensed Missouri State inspector as part of my job as the manager of a large car repair shop. The vast majority of vehicles would pass the inspection with no issues. Over half that did fail failed for simple things like wiper blades or the third brake light out. Some of the other failures were just plain scary: metal to metal brakes, ball-joints falling apart, steering with a half foot of play, exhaust fumes leaking into the passenger compartment...I could go on (and on). It's only prudent to have these things checked out every year or two.

@ Not a Panther Easy, some Shops fill crankcase from a Bulk Tank of Engine Oil. You could literally fill up the engine completely with oil. Some of the Holding Tanks for Engine Oil are 500 Gallons.

I get that there are a lot of dumb people out there who should never touch a wrench, but for every dumb customer there is an equally dumb “professional” mechanic, and of the 2 the cocky know it all mechanic who thinks he can never fuck up is worse, don’t get me wrong there are some great mechanics who really know their shit, but they are generally not the cocky ones who think they walk on water
