Мы от них отстали-точим посадочные места под размер подшипника.А они уже наоборот-напильниками подшипники подгоняют под диаметр шейки.

Oh my God. Seriously. I wondered about the lathe operator, and how he could be sure about concentricity when he flipped that part. He eyeballed it, and he was chucking on raw casting both times. No way dude. Not a blueprint or indicator in sight. Then I saw that guy center punch those holes based on a big circle with a pencil and it was all over for me. If that thing actually fits on the truck it's meant for, I'll be impressed. If the truck's wheels are concentric/coaxial within a whole inch, I'll eat my hat. Do they have tolerances at all? I saw a few check gages... but I also watched the lathe operator hammer one into the bore he was trying to measure, so who can say.

It doesn't matter who you are or what you are doing; perfection is always defined by intent. If it is as good as you (the creator) intended it to be then it is by definition, perfect. There is no argument or other judges. However, I would not want that hub on my truck. But, for all I know, I already have that hub on my truck.

@Funk Masterstill it's really difficult to work like that. usually you work on a lathe by doing relative passes, sure you might sneak up on a really accurate measurement and let the stock cool down first, but it's always based on relative measurements.

@@wellscody86 I mean it's great when you can judge runout by eye down to the ten thousandth. Most of the parts I run, concentricity doesn't matter that much. It just blows my mind that a cast wheel hub is fine to eyeball between sides. I imagine what the truck we would look like driving along with fifty thousandths of an inch runout on one wheel... If the operator got it slightly wrong.
