Great review! I actually just had one of these boxes delivered to me last night. I am looking for an alternative to my 2nd gen fire cube just in case amazon clamps down on everything. I plan on diving into this box over the weekend and putting it through its paces. I will comment later on my results.

I have tested it and ran it through its' paces all weekend and I have been very impressed. It is lightning fast and handled everything I through at it which included K**Di and some 3rd party apps. There was a couple of issues with it out of the box. I couldn't pair the remote with my TV and AV system, I wasn't getting any dobly signal from my AV from the box, and there is a known HDR switching issue with the box. There are a couple of you tube videos out there showing how to fix the remote and sound issue, which did the trick for me. The HDR issue is supposed to be fixed by the upcoming March update coming from Mecool. All, in all, I would recommend this box. Hope this information helps. @@Thetruthshallsetyoufree-

@khapgar123 thank you very much for getting back to me.I am still stuck between going for the Nvidia Shield or this box.I had the 2015 Shield and it stopped working a month ago,I might give this box a try.

I got one and when i go on to storage and clear cached data when i push ok to clear it. It takes me back to settings menu and doesnt clear it. Does anyone else have this issue?

How about testing if SYSTEM PICKER is available ? This is the only way to get TIVIMATE to work with a local USB. Nvidia Shield has it. But most new generic boxes do not.

Mine went back. Poor compatibility with UK streaming apps, issues with my Denon receiver/sound format and no frame match options. It's no Shield.

Wondering if someone can help me out. I'm trying to do a backup/restore in kd....the folder I'm trying to restore from on my mecool deluxe..won't show the files that I just put in there. It's showing other files...but not the zip files I need for the restore? This backup was created on another certified os11 box...put into the emulated/downloads folder...no issue there. Copied ..pasted too a usb...then again from the usb to the mecool deluxe emulated/downloads folder. Go to do restore..I get into downloads folder...and no files are showing? Is there a permissions I'm missing to allow all files somewhere??

IF device speed is your bottleneck, then this will buffer a lot less than a Firestick and a little less than Kinhank

I bought this box about 3 weeks after release. It's taken awhile to work out some kinks...but all good now. Only thing I can't figure out is to how to get tivimate or kd to record direct to an external drive...any help Roh?? Maybe a step by step video?? Otherwise..the mecool rocks!! Good videos..keep up the great work

And once again an absolute total failure from mecool. The fact that there is no USB 3.0 port on a Deluxe version is still acceptable, but the fact that they advertise that all formats are perfectly supported and therefore run properly and then draw comparisons with Nvidia Shield TV (although I would like to point out at this point that nVidia does not offer any kind of service after the warranty has expired) is absolutely unacceptable in view of the fact that the formats are not functional. After some tests, which every user here is welcome to carry out themselves if they are in possession of the box, it does play Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision is also possible, but only in conjunction with Netflix, which means that Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision simply only work with Netflix and other streaming providers and not with KZfaq or videos from the hard disk. However, this is different with other providers that work accordingly, so be careful when shopping otherwise you will unfortunately be annoyed!
