Seems like standard bad company policy, bite off more than you can chew, fail, blame someone else to try and keep your job. Granted I guess this, blame sections of the audience thing is more new. Speaking as a Christian, all I can say is this isn't really anything new for us, except that I would have guessed they disliked us already. (And I suspect that dislike is not restricted to one race.)

As a Christian, the voodoo in the movie was unsettling. I didn’t like the way it made me feel. So I never watched it again. I do like Tiana though, & that dress! I think they could have added Dr Facilier tastefully w/o going into the voodoo stuff. A creative person could have figured that out easily.

To me it didn't, because new Orleans is heavily into witchcraft and showed how it works with the devil. In the end, the spirits were shown to be evil as well as the magic he used and it eventually took his life. The other story was a plantation owner being the bad guy and I like the voodoo option better... But kids see .."witch craft leads to death"

Apparently it keeps breaking down, and the word is they changed the "track" the log flumes travel along. That would explain a lot. Why change the original track? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

This article is just another gas lighter, most of us were young or not even born when splash was built, few have watched the movie and most just thought it was fun and exciting, left you smiling, maybe wet, and whistling a toon. Was that really offensive. I’m sure the fall is still exciting and the plastic swamp plants are gorgeous.

I am not sure how we "white Christians " were the problem when over half of survey families said keep Splash Mountain. I was in favor giving Princess and the frog a ride just in a different location.

My kids just finished watching Disney’s Descendants movies and Doctor facella and his daughter were prominently featured in descendants 3. Which my kids really enjoyed.

@@altarush It comes from Haiti and is a mix of Catholic and slave beliefs. Only 8% of all slaves came to the US the majority went to ranches in the Caribbean and those were the ones who created voodoo.

exactly, the story of the hunchback of notredam isnt about Christianity attacking the people of the town, its about a corrupt clergyman who abuses his power for selfish and evil reasons. its a great idea for a story to teach morals that people of all positions of power in the world can appreciate, a reminder to be thoughtful of how we wield power when it affects others.

Of course. Nothing can ever be bad if it has forced diversity and agendas involved, it can only be racism. This excuse has gotten so old and tiresome. I just don’t watch modern media, or play modern games. I stick with what was and still is good…the things I grew up with in/from the 80’s/90’s and half of the 2000’s.

I’m sorry. I can’t watch this bull shite anymore. Hating on Disney, hating on Star Wars…. I don’t need this in my life anymore…. But here is why: Disney’s balogna they make up to blame others why something fails. That don’t care about how white Christian’s feel about voodoo. Any sane Christian or person in general understands story and mythology. I can’t watch these stories anymore to be tortured by the idea that a company I loved for decades thinks I’m an idiot. It makes me angry . And I don’t need that. I’ll give you a thumbs up but I’m not watching the show.

I dont blame you for this opinion, i used to think this way till i became 100% apathetic. I still keep up with the news if only to have ammo against pixie dusters. Seeing the best series get wrecked before youre eyes is “normal” these days. There is just one solution, vote with youre wallet. And if its a must see series just go off coast to yar har har bay. They want our money, dont mess with us ^^.

Who cares about Hunchback of Notre Dame. It was by far the worst movie of the Disney renaissance by a country mile. I saw every 90’s Disney movie in theaters and that was the only one I never saw again. The main character sucked, the story was boring and not for kids, and overall just was awful.

It’s bizarre that Disney thought that Dr. Facilier was too scary to be included in Tiana's Bayou Adventure, but they were totally fine including him in the show at the castle forecourt stage for Mickey’s not so Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. I’m not complaining about Dr. Facilier being included in that show as I thought that he was a good fit for it. I’m just calling out the inconsistency here.

Well Disney has put themself in a bad spot. Tiana bayous adventure is underwhelming to most people. But because splash mountain is apparently super racist according to Disney, they can't return this attraction to the previous state. So they are stuck with a bad attraction.
