I have called him a savage, a creature, less than human but not good enough to be called an animal bc I like animals & they have more sense than he does, I have called him a piece of trash, a POS, a narcissist, a sociopath & several other things but you hit the nail on the head when you called him a FREAK! He KNOWS he is getting life regardless of what his charges are or may reduce to...he could've saved these families the heartache of reliving this tragedy. He could've saved the state THOUSANDS if not millions of dollars. NO. He HAD to drag them all through this CLOWN SHOW he has put on. He's so ignorant that he doesn't realize it's NOT going to change the fact that he'll DIE in prison. It's NOT going to change how the world feels/views him....in fact it's only made the world HATE him even more. It has TOTALLY worked AGAINST him. He has proven that he had the chance to STOP after he hit the 1st person instead he continued to plow through these innocent people & scar them for life. It's costs MILLIONS of dollars for hospital bills, funerals, counseling, missed work, these tiny dancers with injuries that may keep them from dancing again or becoming all they could've been prior to their injuries, he's caused SO MUCH INDESCRIBABLE, UNNECESSARY GRIEF, HATE, ANGER, ANXIETY, PTSD, DEPRESSION, I mean I could go on & on but we all know. HE CHOSE TO GO THROUGH WITH THIS TRIAL FOR HIS OWN SELF SERVING REASONS! IT'S A WAY FOR HIM TO GET OUT OF HIS CELL EVERYDAY SINCE HE'S ON LOCKDOWN & THE LONGER HE DRAGS IT OUT THAT'S JUST ADDING UP TO ANOTHER DAY OUTSIDE THAT CELL. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISGUSTED BY ANOTHER HUMAN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE UNTIL THIS FREAK!

It would be more of a mockery to the victims, if he were allowed to walk because of a mistrial. I agree that it's sick, and it's rage inducing, but it's ultimately a necessary evil. It allows him to display what kind of a person he is to the jury, and also allows him to bury himself. Because they let him represent himself, and do just that, it's a part of the reason he's been found guilty on all charges, and the victims will finally have peace now.

Brooks might have made an even-bigger mockery of the entire country had he allowed himself to be represented by a competent lawyer. With the recent memory of the conduct of the police in neighboring Minnesota, he possibly could have been portrayed as fearful, and pleaded temporary insanity while fleeing from police. Can you imagine a smart defense attorney somehow getting the phrase: "I didn't want anyone to kneel on my back!" into the record? They could use the rap video, and even lots of the recent "Kia Challenge" car theft videos to try to say to the jury that kids, and even adults up to age forty, have grown up in a world of Grand Theft Auto video games, and guns and school shootings, and terrorism, and they no longer can distinguish fantasy from reality! But his own ego and narcissism is what led to him wanting to represent himself, and in spite of his awful behavior, it was a very short trial and he had all seventy-six counts of guilty. What better outcome could be hoped for in this case? A mockery was made, but not of the victims: Brooks made a mockery of himself, and he was found guilty. - j q t -

@@lizadivine3785 she's doing everything in her power to ensure there isn't a mistrial. Brooks is an evil scumbag (I'm being generous there) and thinks he can bully his way through this. He is digging his own grave and the judge is letting him. I doubt any of the jury has sympathy towards Brooks, and will hit him with the most severe penalties (though Wisconsin does not have the death penalty). Being sentenced to prison and letting him out in GP will be karma in its finest form. Inmates don't tolerate child killers plus the additional five elderly Brooks killed. He's a walking time bomb. Nothing will do justice for Jackson and the other victims. There's no bringing them back. The judge is trying to make sure the trial holds so Brooks can get sentenced and we never hear boo from him again.

I agree you said it so so much better than I could have…… I know there were cases when I worked as a medical worker in a nursing station that shook me to my core and I still after retiring the year 2013 I still remember and have like flash backs and nightmares to, we r not made of stone we have families kids husbands grandparents parents siblings and we have hearts as do the paramedics and cops anyone that has picked this job ……. We do care even when we try to do our job to the best of our ability, there r lots of great endings to cases but for some reason I still remember the worst ones. I used to go into the locked medicine room and cry when I needed a break from everyone. So her getting teary eyed is understandable to me. These people got horrible injuries esp this little fella who was there to see Santa and walk in a parade. I can hear his excitement and chatter or his excitement and to die like this is just horrific by the injuries he suffered. My god have him on his lap and telling him he is not ok. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT HE DID THIS. His argument is INTENT! He could have attempted to be half a man & take a plea to save these victims & community from having to relive this horrific tragedy but his sociopathic ways just wouldn't let him. He has tortured & badgered EVERYONE that can see & hear him....I'm sure even those that can't! His mom did a news interview saying that she knows he did it, he knows he did it. He would've gotten the SAME sentence whether he took a plea or doing what he's doing now....LIFE IN PRISON! He's hoping to make the court violate his "sovereign citizen" BS in hopes of a mistrial. We all know he's definitely going to appeal HOWEVER the appellate judges have to go through the trial transcription (my guess is they're watching this trial knowing what he's going to try so they won't have to go through the entire transcription) & try to find grounds to allow him an appeal which is why Judge Dorow is making sure that she crosses her T's & dots her I's with EVERYTHING & even allow him some leeway.

First of all who speaks like that secondly my question had merit in the basis of my question was to figure out if this is the same case I've been seeing in a courtroom where the gentleman is trying to represent himself in a parade ulceration where the man killed quite a bit of people.

Many think healthcare workers can stay emotionless all the time because we’re professionals and we stay tough so others don’t have to be. I was told once in college by one of my clinical instructors that - if you aren’t moved anymore at some point while doing your job - you better get out of the field. She is human. She feels. And this was a little boy who was innocently enjoying one of America’s most enjoyable pastimes. In a moment, his precious life was taken away. It’s easier when it’s an adult - and there are some of us who’d in an instant give our life for another’s - especially for the innocent who have so much promise. That’s what’s hard - so young and so much promise… by another human who couldn’t care less about anyone but himself. He’s going to prison for life - with no parole. That is, if there is true justice in this world.

Any other judge would shut all these objections up. You can't just object because you think it's hurting your case. Reminds me of the scene in "Liar, Liar" with Jim Carrey... "Your honor, I object!" Judge: "And why is that?" Carrey: "Because it is DEVASTATING to my case!"

The cranial injury is also termed "internal decapitation" essentially being beheaded, yet the brain is still connected to the body with other connective tissues such as skin, muscle, and arteries/veins, yet the spine and nerves are severed. What a tragedy, this boy had his whole life ahead of him and so too what a tragedy for his killer to show no remorse and selfishly care only about himself.

I HOPE HE GETS EXACTLY WHAT HE DID TO THOSE INNOCENT PEOPLE! Maybe a broke tibia/fibia, broken pelvic bone, a torn aorta, internal decapitation...then find a way to inflict the mental anguish he caused not just the one's he hit but those that witnessed their loved one's killed & injured just arms reach from them. I'm wondering if he'll request to be moved to an out of state prison! It won't matters. I have 2 friends that are correctional officers & an aunt that's a retired CO & they have said it doesn't matter where you go other inmates ALWAYS find out who you are & why you're there & inmates do NOT play well with child murderers OR those who kill the elderly. Also, I heard he has ties to a certain gang (remember he had a red t-shirt on when he was arrested) & it's noted on ALL of his prison records. I would guess if that's true he would maybe have a tattoo relating to that gang....if so he will have other gangs to worry about. He deserves EVERYTHING & more that he has coming to him.
