This franchise is kind of a miracle. Written by the same guy over 7 movies and over 3 decades, and it veered from straightforward horror, to comedy/horror, to complete parody, BACK to horror, and kept the same continuity.

Fiona Dourif as her dad's character is everything! Now you have to watch the TV show, it's just as crazy and awesome as Cult.

And also fun fact: that line about Tiffany missing Alice was actually supposed to be her missing glen and Glenda but the producers forced don to change it. Seed of chucky was so disliked they were afraid to even mention the twins

Controversial opinion, but I think the Child's Play franchise is at its best in later sequels + TV-show seasons. I liked how they managed to keep its core-characters for so long while balancing the semi-serious with the totally ridiculous aspects.

The fact that Chucky actually avenged Nica (in his own deranged way) by using her body to kill that perverted doctor...I can't be mad at him for that one. I couldn't stand that character.

Hey girl! I'm so glad that you got to this one. The Cult of Chucky was a breath of fresh air to this franchise. Giving Chucky the ability to inhabit multiple entities makes him so much more imposing. After all, characters can never be sure that they killed all of them. This movie gave birth to the TV series, which is also a lot of fun. I recommend that you watch that as well. I know a lot of people didn't like these last two movies, but I did. And I really enjoyed this one. Not 100% sure why, but I think it's because I really like Fiona Dourif's performance and that climax with her walking out at the end was great.

There's a nice little Brad Dourif reference. When talking to "the ghost lady," Chucky says "fucking cukoos nest!" which is a reference to the movie One Flew Over The Cukoos Nest which also starred Brad Dourif. An excellent film if you haven't seen it, one of Jack Nicholson's best performances. Also it has one of the greatest film villains of all time (Nurse Ratched).

Nica's such a good addition to the franchise, but they really put her THROUGH it. Some parallels with Jamie Lloyd there. This is a p twisted entry in a franchise that already has Seed, but it's kind of hard to get a lot of chuckles out of it. Still, always a blast to get to watch it with Alanda!

I feel like this movie was the perfect combination of everything that the child’s play movies had been building two it had great scares funny moments and connected multiple parts of the series. I do think that the Chucky series is a fun watch for anyone that enjoyed the last movies.

I love how they did something different with this one. They kind of do something different with every one. All I'll say about the series is I think you would like it for the simple reason that it honours all of the movies.

I loved this movie. This whole franchise has never had a bad movie imo. Even Seed Of Chucky had it’s moments, like the decapitation scene with the wires is one of my favorite deaths & favorite scenes of the whole franchise.

I credit Ms. Alanda Parker to my ability to welcome this franchise into my life. Avoided Child's Play like the plague as a child, wanted nothing to do with it. At the age of 36 (way too old 🤣), I can fully look at the movies without hiding behind my hands lol. If you do the show, it would be a joy to see your reaction. The show is everything.

Hearing the reason behind Chucky being in multiple dolls at the exact same time, made me think of the time his blood got mixed into the material used to make the new Good Guy dolls in the third film.

These last two movies were filmed in Winnipeg, which is about 2 hours from where I was born and spent my summers growing up. As a giant 'Child's Play' fan it's oddly such a thrill to see such familiar settings in the series. Also about the only exciting thing to happen in that province this century lmao.

I've always thought back to the beginning of Child's Play 3 (when they were hoisting Chucky's mangled body over that fresh vat and the blood dribbled into it) That vat wouldn't have just gone into making the one doll, it would have many many so his "blood" would technically be in them all...they just needed to be awoken :)

OMG you're in for a treat! This one is a mixed bag with the fans but I'm actually ok with this one even with some of the flaws. Loved the callbacks, guest characters, cinematography, humor, death scenes and musical score. The kills were all unique. The plot was wild and the dialogue can be a bit cheesy. I kind of liked the idea of it taking place at an asylum was actually kind of interesting and brilliant. Also liked a bit of the WTF moments too. Seeing Andy torturing Chucky in the beginning and the him stomping on the short haired one was fucking awesome. Chucky deserves it for what he put that man though since he was a little boy. He never had a normal life after that but its amazing that he's still kicking ass. Seeing him and Chucky smoking a joint together was insane and yet, surprisingly wholesome!

Please remember Alana, nica is the real child of brad dourif so she is literally Chucky’s daughter and when u see the series with her portraying young Charles it will all make sense

I'm sure someone else has mentioned it, but Brad Dourif's first major role was in the One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest with Jack Nicholson, and so his "cuckoo nest" joke was a nice little nod to his roots.
