In Louisiana, Tomas suffered for years from terrible leg pains caused by peripheral arterial disease, or PAD. Facing a double amputation, the retired welder met Dr. Craig Walker, a leading PAD expert, who ultimately was able to save both of his legs.

At times, the patient experience connects them with a remarkable support base community, which often may help contribute to their positive outcome, through a vast foundation of hope and encouragement.
