I am a few episodes behind, but am enjoying this series so far. To combine both your love of bees and dad jokes, I present the following: Why do bees have sticky hair? Because they use a honeycomb.

Currently you have the lowest teir houses per size; Sticks. When you shift your town it will be ideal to start with stone houses as they can later be upgraded to insulated stone. Better housing means better mood which equals more productivity. Even moreso,they use less firewood!

One thing I do at each season, I buy the raw material from the vendor, usually copper and tin. I smelt bronze and sell back bronze tools and keep a few as well. Also in the diplomacy skill tree, specking into barter gives you better buy/sell percentages.
@Kysen

Not sure I have the skill to make bronze tools just yet but could be good when I do. :)

Bronze tools is what I use now, you can buy the copper ore, smelt it use your own materials to make weapon/tools to sell back at a higher price. Even buying the ore, smelting it and selling it back makes a good profit without the barter skill. I will double check this when I get off work on my game and tell you the results.@@Kysen

I got about 6-8 coins per ore I smelted. So you can make profit from turning ore to bars.

This is a great series, excited for more! If you go to the skill tree under production I think, there is a skill called handyman that lets you put insulation in your village’s homes. It lowers the amount of firewood required and keeps the people warmer for longer in general. I think you have to upgrade the homes to stone walls and wood tile roof first to do this, but that also helps a lot with the insulation by itself. This would help with the winters getting colder and colder. Spring and summer are usually the best times to start insulating your homes, because it does take a while to do all of them with all the limestone you have to collect. Whenever you move your village, you can start out with stone walls instead of wattle, which already increases the insulation by itself, and would make it more convenient in the long run. As far as quests go, my friends and I have gotten pretty much the same quests difficulty-wise. They may get more difficult as the game goes on, an as your resources increase. Absolutely loving this series, keep it up!

I'm guessing the game doesn't care, but interbreeding donkeys is definitely gonna get you some wonky donkeys!!! You could always call the new donkey Wonky as a reminder to all watching!! You can also chase down rabbits on foot and use a knife! You do need to run tho!! Lovin your work!!

Nice episode and gz on making your wify happy with the coming baby! But I need to voice one thing that pains me to death lol It is super painful for me to see you running around without picking up every stone and stick from the ground lmao because that is what I constantly do haha 😂 Just to give you a quick example how I started: Collecting a ton of stones and stick, as well as logs and make a whole bunch of tools via handy crafting. Get one or two workers in a woodshed for logs, planks, etc. Next thing, make a field and plant cabbage, flax, oat and/or rye. They line up fine season wise and you also can plant cabbage twice a year. Those can be used for potage, linen thread, and animal feed. You can also sell the cabbage, since it yields insanely xd. Next is a pigsy for manure to have fertilizer (I start my fertilizer with rot from unripe berries). Then start mining, get another worker for the pigs, and continue growing. I am in year 5 now and I can pretty much empty all the NPCs money wise in Piastovia with the stuff I produce and have plenty over.

Donkeys live ~32 years and the foals become adults at 2 years of age I would keep the original ones until the 20s and consider selling the foals until then or if you would rather sell as adults you could build a second donkey shelter and move the foals there. The Donkeys won't produce another foal until at least 1 foal is sold because there are no more spots in your current building. Farm workers: If working animal care they will top up feed if you have it available and collect resources thus increasing your yield. I have not seen an impact on breeding- new animals is a chance each season Animal Breeders get much less exp than a field or barn worker unless this has been recently tweaked. Barn workers are not super necessary in my opinion early game - generally I move field workers to the barn for the winter early game then back to the field in the spring Best animals for frequency of offspring are Geese, chickens, goats, sheep Donkeys & cows are moderate Pigs and horses are the least frequent For Crop management Ohnocho created a great diagram for crop planting. Hectic Nasari also showed it a little while ago

Animal feed = rye + oat + straw. Rye and oats planted in different seasons and take 2 seasons to grow. Bummer :) You may have to buy the grains(to make your own) if vendor is out of feed.

Great episode! You got me into this game. I have a question on how the chicken breeding works. Do you have to stop collecting their eggs to get new chicks, or does it not matter?
@Kysen
@Kysen 5 ай бұрын
Thank you. My understanding is you need 1 Rooster and 1 Hen and in the new season you have a chance of 1+ chick/s being born. You don't need to leave eggs in the nest for them to hatch. I'm not 100% on this but info I found online seems to back up my belief

I still like cooking meat and making bags for my money. 1 bear is 80 meat at 6 coins each 480 coins per bear selling the meat. I have a location with 2 bears and I often head there if I need a bit more cash. I have gained a lot of skills in cooking from making lots of food. I need to try your big farming operations. I have been playing with 2 friends and we had no idea what we were doing. This game has been amazing and it’s so fun to see the slow progress. I am going to get pigs soon which I am excited about. Have you sold any of your animals yet? If you have, I need a run down on how to sell animals please. Thanks!

Is there a way to increase the animal feed for your animal husbandry? I would assume that the animals would be more productive resources if they had a stable and regular food source. Really enjoying the series Kysen, your playthrough inspired my purchase of MD (you should get a referral bonus, lol).
@Kysen
@Kysen 5 ай бұрын
I think growing the materials in bulk then making animal feed is the best way to go. Then I should be able to always have excess animal feed, but we need another 2 or 3 harvests until we're there. Thank you, I hope you will enjoy your medieval adventure! :)

I did check out 1 other location in a previous episode and their skills seemed about the same. I could try other locations but I don't think it's the best use of my time. Probably better to just get someone young in to start working and then their skills improve over time anyway
