indian savoury doughnut a South Indian breakfast
Medu vada is a urad dal based fried snack, a delightful dish from the South Indian cuisine. For preparing this dish. the urad dal is soaked, ground together with spices and deep fried until golden brown. It is served with coconut chutney.
Medu Vada

Ingredients
1 bunch Coriander leaves
1 tsp cumin seed
Hing
to fry oil
1 cup Onion
1 tsp pepper powder(for taste)
AS PER TASTE SALT
200 grams urad dal
Directions
1. Soak Urad dal for 6 hour or overnight.
2. Blend it into a coarse paste.
3. Take a Frying pan add oil to it let it heat.
4. Take a bowl add blended urad dal,add onion,cumin seeds,pepper,coriander leaves,hing,salt as per taste mix all these ingredients well.
5. Make a donut and deep fry in the oil it turns to golden colour

Dear Chef.. You are one amazing person.. Its just not about your great skills but your passion your simplicity and the way you always stick to the roots that make you great ! I some how find some of the leading chefs talking as if they ve landed from a different world of wisdom and have no connectivity at all with the viewer. But you are so good ! Hi chef! Every time I made vadai it always turned hard. My mom makes the best vadai soft n crispy n it was she who taught me to make them. I could never understand why my vadais wouldn't turn out like hers! But then stumbled upon this video and ur tips helped me!! I never beat the batter with my hand and always just used a spoon or a spatula to mix!!! Thank you chef! Love you! My mom too was surprised to eat soft crispy vadais that I made... :)

Sanjay your presentation is really amazing. You make even complicated recipes so simple and effortless. when you were taking those yummy looking vadas from the pan, I almost felt like grabbing a few from the TV screen.
