This is one the recipe that was requested by lots of our fans. Home-made Mee Hoon Kueh, silky soft flat broad noodles, cooked in an ikan bilis and yellow bean based soup. We used mani cai for our version as it matches so well with the sweetness from the soup.
Not forgetting our killer chili dip made using chili padis, it’s spicy and vinegary, leaving you wanting more and more. We prefer quality ikan bilis as they will make your soup taste much better and also deep fried as toppings!
After making the broad noodles, remember to coat them with enough flour so they won’t stick together. If you don’t have a noodle machine just use a rolling pin to flatten the dough.

I think it will be better to tear it instead of cutting into squares, thats how my fav mee hoon kueh stall does it haha

I first tried to eat this noodles in the year 1994 in Singapore it tasted like heaven to me I will never forget , for the next 7 years still keeps eating it. After 24 years I found it in KZfaq and only got to know it's name - mee hoon kueh...Lol.... it's because I'm not from Singapore nor I'm Chinese . I'm a Filipino :-))

我对面粉粿的要求是比较严格啦… 撇开味道不说,不是用手撕成块的面粉粿,还没吃就已经要先扣分了😅

I noticed you use rock sugar pretty often, quite like my parents and family members do. I've asked them why rock sugar instead of granulated sugar (which in the states at least is usually significantly cheaper) and have never gotten a good answer. Do you have one?

Nurhafika Soon ban Mian is actually thinner, but mee hoon quay is much bigger in squares

Actually Mee Hun Kueh is hand torn initially... is hokkien and originated from Klang (selangor). Then pan mian or Pan Mee is harder dough and cut using noodle cutter and flatten. Then eventually when move to other states, is flatten and using knife to cut. I grew up eating Mee Hun Kueh and thus I can tell he differences between Klang and other places. But of course is preferences yah... 🤗
