Meet A Hebrew Israelite Man - Is He Israeli 🇮🇱 or Palestinian? 🇵🇸 - Today, I am here in the Village of Peace hanging out with Hebrew Israelites. Hebrew Israelites are people from many different ethnic backgrounds. Most Hebrew Israelites follow the same religious principles and practices that Jews around the world do. I have been introduced to a place I never knew existed before. Who are these Hebrew Israelite - and what does it mean to be one?

@Jonah Daniels….regardless of what they call themselves…these are people who were oppressed and disliked in America. They rejected this treatment, left the states and developed their own society that is noteworthy. Be proud of their accomplishments. They are peace loving people and we should all follow their examples. They are successful because there are no drugs, racism and police brutality….traits of America towards some of the black communities, to interfere. May God bless them and continue to move them forward. It is God who allowed this to happen. By the way they are not racist. They are welcoming to everyone.

@Jonah Daniels.....that sounds bizarre if what you are saying is true. I can not go there. Jesus (Yeshua) said to give the gospel to all of the nations. I stayed with this community many times in the early 2000s , such warm loving people, who made me feel at home. The whole community, young and old would go for walks up the hills to keep fit, some practice martial arts, yoga etc. The children were so respectful, could speak multiple languages and were extremely entrepreneurial. I was so fortunate to meet their spiritual leader Ben Ami before he passed, who was a extremely wise and noble man with an almost God like presence. I often wondered how they were getting on, a lot of familiar sights. The Israeli government were trying to deport them recently, I hope they're not successful, they are an asset to Israel. Oh and the ice cream is beautiful!

They are not trying to deport them. The country allowed the Hebrew Israelites to live there, gave them permanent residency and then New illegal people join their group thst are new to Israel. They come in illegally on tourist visas or other paperwork. They are not the Dimona people, but add-ons. They are illegally in the country. Those are the people Israel has tried to deport.

@@shainazion4073 No, with respect, you are confusing/conflating the good people in the featured community in Eretz Yisrael with members of a sect on the streets of NYC and elsewhere. These people identify as the church of Black Hebrew Israelites who "preach" that they are descended from the ancient Israelites and do so in a loud and confrontational way by claiming that the Jewish people are imposters. Then there's Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam which claims they are the real Jews and/or descendants of Jews and that the Ashkenazim, Sephardim and Mizrahi Jews are not real Jews and/or descendants of the Children of Israel. Farrakhan goes beyond these claims and demonizes Jews in Israel and the Diaspora with the usual anti-Semitic tropes and the like. The Black community in Israel are not connected in any way with the aforementioned.

Bad Jews - A History of American Jewish Infighting Emily Tamkin, a Jewish writer from the UK who writes about American Jewry, has recently published a book titled Bad Jews: A History of American Jewish Politics and Identities. The book’s publisher, Hurst, describes it as “A lively, thoughtful history of America’s Jews, exploring their complex relationships with national culture, identity, and politics-and each other.” The book caused a bit of a stir among Jewish publications. JTA, for example, wrote that Tamkin “takes a different tack, tracing the history of American Jewry through the ways Jews on one side of social upheaval seek to discredit the very Jewishness of those on the other side.” The book itself focuses on what is happening in America, since “American Jewish history,” writes Tamkin, “is full of discussions and debates and hand-wringing over who is Jewish, and how to be Jewish, and what it means to be Jewish.” When a student of mine told me about the book, he asked for my opinion on these questions, stating that they “haunt” virtually every Jewish person. He also noted that when Tamkin asked people, “What comes to mind when you hear ‘Bad Jew’?” the most common answer she got was “When I think of a ‘Bad Jew,’ I think of myself.” Since, as Tamkin writes, “The issue of what it means, or doesn’t, to be a Good Jew or a Bad Jew is particularly fraught at this moment in US history,” the student asked for my take on the topic. So, first, we need to realize where the word Yehudi (Jewish) comes from. There is the known answer, that Yehudi comes from Yohuda (Judah), the name of the tribe that lived in the land of Israel during the Second Temple. However, there is another meaning to the word: Yehudi also comes from the word Yechudi, meaning united. This makes perfect sense if you remember that we were pronounced a nation only after we committed to love each other “as one man with one heart” at the foot of Mt. Sinai, yet, for the most part, this explanation did not receive the notoriety it deserves. If you look at being Jewish through the spectacle of Jewish unity, as I do, then being a good Jew means first and foremost that you want to unite with all the Jews, that this is what really matters to you, your prime value. If Jewishness is about unity, then a Jew is a person who knows, feels, understands, and even spreads the idea that the most important thing is to be connected in ties of love with all the Jews, regardless of denomination, customs, political views, or any other issue that currently divides and splinters the Jewish people. The author wrote that one of the answers she got to the question about the meaning of being a bad Jew was “someone whose conception of Judaism doesn’t have applications to the wider world.” I understand where this answer comes from. It is with good reason Jews gave the correction of the world such a pivotal place in their identity. We even gave that mission its own Hebrew term, Tikkun Olam (Hebrew for “Correction of the World”). However, we must know what it means to correct the world, to be responsible for it, or even to care about the world. Tikkun Olam are not simply words; they imply a very specific task, and until we accomplish it, we will not be “good Jews.” At the “inauguration” of our people, we were commanded to unite “as one man with one heart,” as RASHI interprets. Immediately after, we were declared a nation and were tasked with being “a light to the nations.” In other words, our unity and our obligation to the world are indivisible. We cannot be a light to the nations if we are not united. At the same time, we cannot unite unless we do it in order to be a light to the nations. When our ancestors united for the first time, under the guidance of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, they were not a biologically related group. They were an eclectic crowd that was taken by the idea that all the people should unite, and we should not succumb to our ego. This is why Abraham advocated kindness and mercy, to teach people how to rise above their self-absorption and care for one another. Abraham was a maverick, a pioneer, a trailblazer, but thanks to him, these noble ideas are now universal. As a nation that formed out of disparate tribes and clans, it was our duty to be the living proof of Abraham’s paradigm. This is why we became a nation only after we united, and not a moment prior. Since our inception, we have known that unity is our “secret weapon.” However, we never understood why, what was the secret of the strength in our unity. The secret is not that unity itself makes us undefeatable, but that our unity dissolves the world’s hatred toward us and turns it into respect and awe. It gives the world the example of unity that it needs so that all of humanity can unite, as well. Not only we received a message when we were at the foot of Mt. Sinai. At that moment, the nations of the world received the knowledge that we received the calling. Since then, they have been waiting for us to live up to it. This is why they support us when we are united, and scold us when we are divided. Being a good Jew or a bad Jew, therefore, is not a judgment we pass on each other or on ourselves. It is determined by our commitment to the world, which we fulfill through our efforts to unite among ourselves and serve as an example that if we-the most divided nation, whose members often abhor one another-can unite, then the whole world can, as well.

This newspaper story tells of a Jew from 1668 America. Solomon was listed as a “malata Jue“. The source tells us that the Englishmen of that time period thought the Jews were dark-skinned. The source then tells us in 1665 that a “respectable Portuguese Jew” in Jamaica was called “a black Jew“. The source tells us that F.L. Cardozo, a famous Jew in America during the Civil War time frame, was of Negro descent. The source also tells us that the term “mulatto” was occasionally applied to Spanish-Portuguese Jews. Mulato and Mulata in Cuba means someone of mixed African and Cuban indigenous (the tribes who lived on the island pre-colonisation, eg, Siboney) descent. It means of dual heritage. Whilst the term "Mulato" is considered an insult in some cultures, due to an individual not being fully accepted as "belonging to" either people or culture, in Cuba it is considered incredibly honourable to be called a Mulata or a Mulato as they say the mixed genes of the original inhabitants and the Africans combine to make the most beautiful of women and the most handsome of men. In fact, there is a rum named Mulata in honour of the Mulatas of Cuba.

@@MK-mh6lh Because Israel would not allow them to become citizens. They refused to convert to Judaism. They allow polygamy and forbid birth control. The leaders decide marriages, and they perform their own wedding ceremonies. They have no Jewish heritage and refuse to convert to Judaism, therefore they are not eligible for citizenship. They entered Israel on temporary visas, which the goverment renewed. They were allowed to live, work and receive health care and were given loans to meet their basic needs. The Goverment left them alone and did not try to deport them. Their population kept growing and growing. They denounced Israel and became more vocal with the claims that the real Jews were frauds and that only they were the True descendants of the Israelites. Many in Israel consider them a cult and wanted them expelled. When proposals for deportation were discussed they held hunger strikes and had their many supporters in the US write op-ed pieces claiming racism on the part of Israel. Their legions in America had Congres send funds for their support and to establish a school for them in Dimona. By 1990 the Israeli government and the BHI reached an agreement. The BHI would be granted tourist status for one year, until they were granted temporary residency status. The temporary residency would be reviewed in 5 years and then periodically thereafter. Israel later agreed to build a permanent organic farming village in the Negev desert for the group. The BHI continued to live and work in Israel. In 2003 they were granted permanent residency status for those on the list they provided to the Minister of the Interior. They started in 1969 as 30 people and number between. 2,000 and 3,000 today. More and more people have joined their group and they were not in the original agreement. These people were cracked down on and the Israeli government had sent deportation notices as they are residing illegally in the country They use the Media to claim racism against them as they are Negroid and they go to the media and paint Israel as only expelling them because they are Black. Then America blacks make a ruckus and the international community loves to paint Israel as racist.

Traveling Clatt are you doing research before you do the videos on the various groups. Please learn more about these groups. Many of the black Hebrew Israelites have been violent and espoused violence. Or is this group different from other Hebrew Israelites? How do their beliefs, practices, traditions, etc. differ from Israelis and from other Israeli Jews and Israelis in general ? I'm not saying you should portray them in negative light - not at all! But we'd like to hear the whole story from various perspectives! Thanks for showing the world what an amazing country Israel is. The world, mistakenly, often sees Israel as intolerant and oppressive but your videos are showing how Israel has many, many different types of groups and is very tolerant! They won’t tolerate terrorism of course and way too many Israelis have died. But I have to say that Israel is one of the most tolerant places I’ve ever visited and is absolutely and definitely one of the most tolerant places - probably the most tolerant place in that part of the world!!

The Jewish faith has nothing to do with race or religion just think of all the Europeans who are native to Europe but yet call themselves Jews but for some reason it's not a problem but because these African Americans call themselves Jews , there seems to be a problem but anyone who knows the history of the crusades knows that the Jewish population at that time were dark skinned people who were mainly semitic however some were of African descent who was hard to distinguish from the Arab population at that time and they were exterminated by the crusaders and were replaced by those of European descent that's why today most Israelis are basically European who converted to judism however I don't believe the creator actually cared about their skin color it was he who chose the seed of Abraham to bring about the advent of the Messiah, The faith was the religion of the the people of Judah which are now called Jews. But the entering in of the Messiah put an end to it All everything henges on Yeshua who is the true temple of God where God is to be worshiped as it is today God does not dwell in buildings made by man..✌️

Those European Jews were called Jews by those who tried to get rid of them. And they atleast had a history of pharisaic Judaism under their belt with their customs and language. If revelation was all it took to create a whole belief system, you should have no problem excepting the Mormon/Catholic/Shincheonji's religions as well.

Jews are not a religion. They are a nation of people from Judea. They all share DNA in common from the Diaspora communities around the world. They are a tribe of people. And they follow the laws of Torah. You can not just decide to become a Jew. In order to become a Jew, it is from one to three years of study, you must learn Hebrew, the law, culture, traditions, festivals etc. When you think you know enough, then you go before a Rabbinic court and are questioned, of you pass the questioning, you must undergo circumcision if male, even if already circumcised, and then to mikvah, and then you become a Jew. In a religion, you say one passage in an afternoon, and poof!! You are now that religion.
