Never forget that in Young Justice, Bette introduced Artemis to Gotham prep, and when Dick took that suprise pic with them, she called him "some underclassman", now, cut to five yeats later in the timeline (Young Justice tie-in comics) , Dick and Bette are seen dressing up after a one night stand, these are things I remember, but not forms of math.

Not having Betty or Bette around is kinda depressing. You really never get to see the moment where Robin grows up enough to give her a Valentine, or see her reaction when she realizes he spelled her name wrong.

To be fair, Batwoman's death occured after Julius Schwartz was not longer editor of the Bat titles. Paul Levitz was editor of Detective Comics when Kathy Kane was killed by the League of Assassins

I'm currently writing an original universe series based on Batgirl and my lead character is loosely based off of Bette Kane rather than Barbara Gordon, Stephanie Brown, or Cassandra Cain. I agree that the character had so much potential and I take a weird sense of pride out of giving her a "second chance" as Batgirl. Thanks so much for your videos. Bette Kane's later post-crisis appearances were just retcon-riffic. I still wonder what would have happened if BatWoman and Bat-Girl had caught on and were part of the TV series rather than a creation of Batgirl.

Can you do a video on Cassandra Cain? I finally got around to watching the “Birds of Prey” movie (I had to wait until I was sure I wouldn’t break my tv because of the lack of Babs...among many many other things) and while I’m happy they acknowledged her existence, I’m pretty salty about her portrayal (among other things). Cass is a relatively obscure character so the “Birds of Prey” movie is likely the only version of her most people who aren’t actually into Batman comics, know about and I don’t think it really does her justice, not to mention isn’t super accurate. Cass is a BAMF and deserves some love, like she can whoop Batman and that alone is amazing. Also I was rereading Batman and Robin Eternal and just that one bit where she taps Jason’s fists, Dick’s heart and Tim’s head, after just meeting them is straight up awesome. Then there’s the whole lady Shiva and David Cain of it all that really needs to be talked about more [honestly there should be a whole team of heroes with evil parents (Cass, Emiko, Steph, Kon, Rose, Dami, Wallace, Joseph...oh wait is that the teen titans?) Whoops tangent..but also whose evil parent would win in a fight, or who has the evilest parent.. ooh that would also be a great video.] Anyways Cass is awesome and I would love to see you do a video on her, all of yours rock, you were totally my favorite host on top ten❤️

My first, and only exposure to the character was in a few issues of the original Teen Titans run that ended in the early 70's. While I found the confusion of some of the other characters as to who she was to be amusing and her reaction of, "...no that's the OTHER Batgirl" was indicative of her obvious frustration, beyond that she was really kind of Vanilla...like a white bread and mayo sandwich. I never really knew her origin before this and had assumed, like many, that she had been introduced at the same time as Batwoman and because of....the book. (which, as an aside you can find for under 50 bucks on amazon right now in an edition from 2006). Don't get me wrong, I think the character had potential, but I don't think writers at the time really had any idea what to do with her, especially after the introduction of Barbara Gordon and I"m guessing her appearance in the original Titans book was some attempt to revitalize the character that sort of fell short of the mark. I haven't seen any of her more modern iterations but I hope the writers were better able to deal with her than past writers have been.

Hope to hear about the attempts to bring her back in the modern age.

We all just need to take a moment to appreciate the voice talents Sasha uses for each character as she reads to us. That Batman voice alone would make Kevin Conroy think twice.

Actually it's seven when you think of The Cover Story of her in Batman#163 as Bat-Girl: Bat-Woman II in which by at least one readers suggestion in a letters column for the 2nd Batman and Robin Series and then lo and behold in response to this the answer given was told that it was going to be granted.Btw The Blue Bown is a.k.a. The Signalman this was his one shot a.k.a. and this character is similar to Green Arrow with his trick arrows.Bat-Girl's return in Teen Titans #50 was in was an inspiration of Batwoman's return in Batman Family #10 as seen in the letters column saying how Robin is hot with both his Girlfriend Lori Elton in College and Batgirl and so if you're going to bring back Batwoman then why not bring back the Original Bat-Girl too and complicate matters even more.

Quite Frankly she might have work if Barbara stay as Oracle and they bring out a character that bring light to the darkness that is the Batman family . I also don t mean it as something to bright thing up but more to emphasis on the shadow that these hero live in and have struggle with. Approach people and investigate differently more socially then hanging people on top of a building upside down. Usually those people have family and normal reference that might need to talk and could bring a new solution to a problem that Batman being more and more violent have forgotten to approach and that an assassin like his son would failed to relate. The DC universe have become a very dark place for Batman team someone who can do the job in her own way to what Alfreda have to provide could be very interesting. Maybe her other persona could be a student nurse or a psychologist ? Something like that might work and being the cousin of bat woman I could definitely see her being a folder to bat-woman more military mind set.

Wow a comic story from before I started reading comics a few years later. (As I was from the U.S., but living in England for a time, I started reading Dr. Who comics, but I returned to the U.S. a few years later, (living in Toronto for a year,) and before the 60's were over was reading DC and Marvel. Which, back then, often contained re-prints of older stories, so yeah I knew of Bat-woman and Bat-girl. And I remember when Robin went through (tried) several costumes (reader submitted - in one story) before he became "Nightwing". (A friend of FlameBird, who he'd met previously.) One of those, which was kinda light and dark brown I recall liking. (though I can't remember it well.) (Kind of like that beastly character, with claws, who had a dark/light brown costume... Timber Wolf. (Wolver-who?)) As always thank you so very much for your efforts, observations, and the awesome videos.

Could Betty be the real name of the new lead in Batwoman, it would at least make her part of the Bat comics. The main difference Betty vs Barbara is one liked Robin from the start other seemed to only like him when Batman said no. Well used to. I like that Betty's inspired by her aunt, rather than Batman as Barbara does.

I started reading comics in the early 70s and got hooked on the 100 page super spectaculars you could buy for 50-60 cents because they would have reprints of old stories but there was seldom a continuity and I love how you fill in the gaps. Any chance you could do a review of how Alfred Pennyworth became a villian known as the Outsider?

To be fair, when I grew up in the 70's teenagers were still trying to stop crooks with balloons. Do to the high smoking rates, it went about as well as it did in the comics. I had tried a ballon animal myself... it was not pretty.
