He is a true, thoughtful horseman. Many horses thank him. I grew up that way also but my best friend was a lovely quarter horse. I spent more hours with him than people. Healing goes hand in hoof, or hoof in hand.

I know as a Native American Horse trainer, I as a young man growing up on the Navajo Reservation I learned how to listen to the horses because they're teacher to our children . Horses teach us the DO'S & DON'T of life but most of us human tend to put human emotions on to the horses ... for example most of my clients think just because they're nice to the creature and hand feed them they won't BUCK , REAR , KICK and so on but it is so important to listen to their needs & wants to be able to understand their world... you don't have to run a horse to death in a round pen to catch your horse the closes way to a horse is thru their eyes because since they're sensitive creatures use that to start the relationship ...

Buck is such a kind and gentle man, demolishing all the preconceived notions that society holds about the potential of abused children, and proves that they have the ability to stop the legacy of abuse, and live productive lives, as kind and thoughtful adults.

Whenever I'm reading an argument on some poor person's comments of their horse video I always think back to Buck Brannaman and how I wish everybody knew about how he works with horses.

For me, Monty Roberts technique of body language and lunging helped me with my mare peaches (abused) and helped me to gain the trust of a former "rent a horse" gelding that after money was exchanged "be carefu, if you beat him he will fight back". The gelding came home a wreck, but after my parents divorce left a safe sane horse. I no professional, but I like to hope I was doing something right.

No, that horse could have been handled, and trained. I have had horses like that.... Buck needed time, time he couldn't devote to that horse. Even he can't do in 2 days what takes 6 months to do.

Just another example of God using a bad situation to change so many peoples and animals lives for the better and turn a bad situation into something beautiful🥰🙏🥰 only God can do that He had a plan all along even if we don’t See or understand it during the storm he’s always there and he always has a plan

How he lets people say this is beyond me. He went and learned from Ray Hunt. Ray Hunt learned from Tom Dorrance. The Dorrance family had the "whisperers", which was a term they really didn't take well to. If you knew Ray Hunt, you would see how much Buck mimics his gestures, tone of voice, and words. Buck is an excellent roper, but let's be honest, it was Tom and Ray who were phenomenal with the horses.

What did the horse do to deserve the rope pull at 1:19 ? I played it back and I'm like huh? Seems a bit OTT, I wouldn't like that if I was a horse or a human. Seemed a bit forceful.

It was really necessary. It was only a matter of time before he killed someone. That horse was unfortunately doomed from the start, and you can't risk human life by desperately wanting to "save" everything.
