Hi just to answer some of the questions. Whenever the emergency button is pressed, soldiers come to the aid of guards. In this instance no one came, I assumed the emergency button did not work. So I waved at the armed police to call them and they came instantly. The armed police were standing at a different location at the time so they could not see what was going on.

I think half of the people have never seen a horse and plus they are 17 hands tall they are huge for the average size of a horse. So they would be really nervous to want to touch the horses. I have seen that a lot in the last three weeks this week. I'm watching all these videos 11-20-23 5:37pm. Mountain time in Montana U.S.A. I Googled the size last night. And I just subscribed to you. But when I noticed that the videos were all out of order it's harder to find the right video. I watch on my TV but I have to look up the video on my phone. Just to let you know that too. Some people might give up to comment.

You know, these soldiers have to deal with "civilians" when they are deployed and they're not on ceremonial duties; sometimes these civilians are openly belligerent. Think about what these soldiers had to deal with over the years in Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia...and of course Northern Ireland. They are trained how to deal with this type of situation. It's just a shame it has to be when they are at home in a supposedly "safe" area. Their discipline and restraint is commendable.

In the late 1970’s States shut down mental institutions because of political pressure and frankly they were treating patients horribly. Even since that time we have had a rising number of homeless and people in need of mental health help. Problem is, it’s always NIMB. President Trump has a great idea for tent cities that will have doctors, mental health professionals so people can be evaluated. Some need just a helping hand, others need drug addiction therapy. We can not allow to let these people live on the streets. They are humans and need all the help we can give them. George Carlin once said, “I do not mind helping the helpless, but eff the hopeless” some people will not let us help them.

What these yokel tourists don't appear to understand is that the guard and the horse are NOT there as tourist photo opportunities in fancy dress. It's not DIsneyland, they're not there playing dress up for the tourist's benefit. I actually think these grown adults have absolutely no idea about what I just wrote. They treat the guards and horses as if they were in an amusement park or a children's petting zoo.

Every year people ask me why I don't show my horse at the local county fair where the barns are open to the public, and every year they get the same answer: Because people are idiots around horses when you're watching them like a hawk, imagine the stupid shit they get up to when you leave your horse in their stall. These guys are active military personnel and cops WITH WEAPONS and they still have to deal with idiots messing with their horses.

Tossing the head up and down while ears are pinned is a sign of emotional distress in the horse. He is annoyed and angry. The reason is not always obvious, but there is always a reason.

I think it was the person who was taking the video who suspected that the emergency button was not working, so *that* person waved one of the armed guards over, who responded immediately.

As the OP said, it seems like the button didn't work otherwise the police would've been there. They have to patrol inside as well as out, and often get stuck answering questions from tourist's.

Looking at your camera work on this day, man, there are allot of people there to see the guards on horseback. Nice that they have a red button to get help if the people do rude things like the guy wanting to punch the horse. Amazing that these guards get this much attention. The crowd should be kept back a certain distance from the guard and no touching the horse allowed at all. I'm a guard myself and ex Army and I think the more you let them get away with the more they try it on, you have the authority and you need to keep it there.

How would you like it if random strangers came up to you and touched your face when you were at work? Why do you expect a horse to like it?? If you have never had the priviledge of working with horses and want to know what they feel like , ask the rider first, approach calmly from the side with your hands by your side, when standing near the side of their neck, reach out slowly while talking in low soothing tones and lay your palm gently on the neck muscle, and give a gentle pat and walk away. NO DRAMA.

This guard is a legend, his deadpan & cool approach was so effective in defusing the situation, "Don't you dare" then when he threatened again, "No you wont", this guard was well versed in the Jedi mind trick😉followed later by, "Get away from my horse...I'm asking you nicely" you could see how disarming that approach was, you could literally see the moment, "drunk, photo bombing Del Boy lookalike" weighed up his next move and chose to walk away and yes, I agree he handled it beautifully, the calmness of his tone along with the stare made this idiot think twice about not wanting to find out what, asking him not nicely entailed. PS- which Muppet did he murder for that coat?
