My daughter, who’s 16, has a great relationship with her stepmom. She calls her mom and when we’re around each other, she’ll call me “mami”. She doesn’t have any daughters and I’m very blessed that she loves my daughter as her own. There’s nothing wrong with being a stepmom, you chose to love her too. Be proud of that!

For those saying why doesn’t she just call her her daughter, you have to take into consideration that her biological mother is still very much in the picture so she may not feel comfortable with Adrienne doing so. This is the case for a lot of step family’s so they have to find an alternative as way to be respectful to the biological parent.

Lamarsha Lewis Thats not respecting the biological mother. To her, it sounds as if she’s being written out of the picture after raising her child for however many years. While stepmoms contribute a lot to the home, Adrienne will never replace all the work and influence her mother instilled in Mariah, and shouldn’t have that title. It’s not like stepmom/stepdaughters are ugly titles.

My "stepmom" never used the word step when introducing my sister and I to people. She simply said, "these are my girls". She loved us, and we loved her. She was simply our mom. By the way, she and I were 10 years apart. A real fine lady; we miss her so much. Your relationship remains me of the way we were. 💋

that is literally so cute :) i have a stepmom and step siblings too but we prefer to keep it like that. we don't interfere into each other's lives. i think it's mainly because my dad remarried in his 50s and i'm in my 20s and i'm still close with my bio mom, so it's a bit complicated.

I love their relationship! People are talking about them speaking over each other, but that's just what happens when you're both extroverted, very close and have loads in common. Me and my sister are just like this! in fact, are entire family is like this! And we're all incredibly close

My step mom is my best friend as well. She’s 12 years older than me and I just love her so much. She is also the ying to my yang. You two are blessed to have one another.

S Lee she’s fine with it. I have young parents. They were 16 and 18 when they had me. So yes there is only a 12 year difference between my SM and I, there is only a 6 year age difference between her and my dad. So it’s just how it worked out. My parents have also not been together since I was a baby. So no hard feelings anywhere. Plus our relationship isn’t mother/daughter. It’s best friend and mentor. I will say though that my step mom is an amazing grandma to my kids. She didn’t have to take on that role. But she did full force and they adore her.

My step daughter called me mum one time and it made my heart flutter and skip a beat. I love my step daughter so much. I miss her a lot too. She is such an awesome big sister to my daughter that my girl misses her sister a lot too. She is so loyal and loves her mama (as rightly so) that they have strengthened and reconnected their relationship (as mum and daughter should).

My “step daughter” and I are just like y’all. I always just call her my daughter bc we look so much alike and she acts more like me then my own child. Lol she’s only 10 but very mature for her age. It’s awesome!

Normis Canal I just say my bonus daughter I don't refer to her as my husband's daughter because when my step mom did that to me it made me feel some type of way. She referred to her children with my dad as "our girls" and me as "Edward's daughter"

That’s our name for our blended family. Bonus is something in addition to what you expected. And the word itself is not negative at all. always means something good. Bonus check, Christmas bonus etc. ❤️ It’s a happy addition to what I have

My kids say they have two dads one is pops and one is dad. My kids call their bonus mom sometime mom and I am not bothered at all. I gave birth to them and no way threatened.

I call my bf papa sometimes (for latinos it's like normal hola papi/ hola mami) but I normally just call him papa when we are alone or flirty - so we go to a shopping center I always went with my father and my bf is going the wrong direction - so I open up my mouth (me, only 4'9 tall, no make up with a hoodie) and shout in his direction (he, 8 years older, full beard) "PAPAA IT'S THIS WAY" HE FROOOOZE! 😂 I approached to give him a kiss and say sorry, only to notice that the whoooole parking lot heard it - he loked at me mad telling me "don't you dare give me a kiss now that the whole world thinks I am your father" I almost peed laughing 😂
