It took my adopted pup about 6 months to fully be who she was going to be. She is around 8 years, and her owner died so she was probably mourning them. I’m glad Louie has a new home! Congrats!

The "mini pancakes" are actually a dutch thing. We eat these a lot. They're called poffertjes. Traditionally you eat them with a ton of powdered sugar ( not maple, maple isn't dutch).

That's great you adopted. It's great Berry accepted Louie. I live in Florida now, but I lived in California in the Bay area and that's where I adopted my dog Sparkles in 2017, she's a havanese poodle mix about 16 lbs now, but only weight 11 when I adopted her. She is so sweet, they said she was between 1-2 years old when I got her.

He is beautiful. He looks a chihuahua, Jack Russell mix. Who cares lol. The best thing is that the babies accept and get along. Which they clearly do. I think he will settle fine. Well done guys. Love 💕 your channel. Just changed to a vegan 🌱 diet and I love 💕 it xxx 😘

I can 100% relate to the "weirdness" of the time just after the adoption of the second puppy. I had a similar situation with the 2nd cat, who additionally had a rough past, so he was SO SO scared at the beginning. Now, 1.5 years later he and the other cat(her) are doing so great they lock each other heads and sleep together all the time

I don’t think he’s come from a loving home BUT my he has hit jackpot with you guys. I have always had chihuahuas and I’m soooooo in love 😍 with them. Again though I do fancy a little Barry to someday. Love 💕 to you all. Xxx

Okay that was pretty cool seeing the new baby, the behind-the-scenes, the dogs running together, and the grilling goodness! Please do more behind-the-scenes stuff. So interesting and no idea it takes this kind of set-up! Gives you so much more appreciation for every single video

My dog was 4 months when I adopted her & she was shook af! But she warmed up to me almost instantly. We slept together that first night & she didn’t cry or anything. When I woke up her head was on my pillow & I cried lol I still have that pic! However, it took her a year to warm up to hubby 😂😂😂 but now they’re bffs

We adopted our Lola from a shelter in Cyprus, Greece. She was terrified of men, but warmed up soooo quickly to my husband and she loves him. TIPS: Patience is key. Lola took almost 2 years to learn how to ask to be taken out when she has to pee/poop despite how many walks we would take her on. So we found many accidents in the house but it is important not to get mad. Use positive reinforcement for potty training. Also NEVER put the doggy in a crate with the door closed when you are home or away. It is not good for their mental health. PETA did a wonderful video on this if anyone is curious. They should think of the crate (if you choose to use one, we do not) as a safe space. Never a punishment and never a place they are trapped or stuck in.

It took my adopted baby around 9 months to adjust. But I think Berry will really help Louie to grow quicker.

I've had both my dogs so long (over 5 years) that I can't even remember how long it took them to get used to each other. I adopted them about 7 months apart.

I guess giving Louis time and space os the best for now! i rescued my dog, she used to be mistreated in my college campus and It took her a few months for her to feel confortable around us and specialy around men i noticed. Until today she has a hard time around new people but whith us she feels at home ♥️

I have a Green Pan and it’s terrible-EVERYTHING sticks to it.😫 I’m trying not to cook with oil, and even when I do use oil stuff sticks-I made mangled pancakes for breakfast today.😂 What kind of pan do you use and do you have to use oil to cook your pancakes? Thanks so much!

Best thing to do, is to let Louie come into his own on his own terms. Reassure him, and just let him do his own thing. He will eventually come into his own. Just let him go at his pace. Just be patient and be gentle. Congratulations. All the best.

I volunteer at the local open intake shelter here in philly and we always tell people about the rule of 3! It generally takes dogs about three days for a dog to start to feel safe in their new home, about 3 weeks for them to start to get used to/settled into the routine, and about 3 months for them to really feel at home! ❤️ time, patience and kindness are your best friends :)

I saw suggestions posted somewhere online for folks who get a new dog while under stay at home orders. Make sure once he gets adjusted to being in your home that you practise leaving him alone, for example putting him in a room by himself for a couple hours once in a while. That way it isn't a shock once you leave him at home once you can go out more.

I don't have much experience with dogs, but we have a very skittish cat. We got her out of a really neglectful situation. She was kept in a laundry room and was repeatedly abandoned and attacked by another cat in the laundry room house. She instantly bonded with our daughter so she just stayed in her room for over a year. Now she comes in our room (husband and I). She doesn't like loud noises including my husband's loud voice. She doesn't like being alone in a room so we have to bring her into my room if my daughter goes out. We're still working on it, but we're making progress she even gave my husband head boops! Anyway my advice is to figure out what makes them most comfortable and hang around in the general vicinity and talk to them calmly. They seem to gradually warm up to people if they're shy or skittish. The one advantage of cats is cat nip 🤣. Good luck.

Those pancakes look like a Dutch thing called Poffertjes, we have special pan's to make them and they are eaten with a fork, butter and powdered sugar :)

Yes! Louie is currently not vegan but it’s because he wasn’t when we got him and we have been slowly weaning him off of the food he was used to see how he does with the vegan kibble (we like Wild Earth). We transitioned berry too fast when we got him and he had diarrhea haha. Louie will eventually be vegan! ❤️

omg I have the same pan but have been struggling with making pancakes!! do you guys have any tips on that? like do you guys line the pan with oil or go no-oil? do you guys keep the temperature really light? i'm so confused because all of my other pans are so much easier to cook with!

I used to have an apple chihuahua who was 5.5 pounds before he left to puppy heaven last year. The only issue would be they get very scared easily as well as if his ears are bigger than normal size he might be sensitive to sound. Watch out for their spine since jumping up and down a couch can move their disk which mine had therapy for. But they are very heart warming and lovable once they know you will be there for anything. Mine was 13 and would of been 14 this June and a year this July since I last held him. Follow my insta if you ever want to meet my baby @la_estuped yours reminds me of my Chiquis
