If I would have 1, it would be a dream that came true. But you know, you need to work to achieve your dreams.

To everyone thinking this looks like a Trek Session: What's wrong with you? It's not even the same suspesion platform. Not every horst-link stye bike looks like a session. Actually, the Trek Session is a single pivot design with a floating shock (till 2017, 2018 isn't anymore). The Fury is a classic Four-bar with a high pivot on the chainstay and an idler system. 2 completely different kind of bikes.

Winterfell 7102 can you tell me the differences in behaviour between the two types of link? Its not a sarcastic question, i really want to learn more about bikes geometry ;)

It always depends on the pivot locations. Most four-bar-bikes tend to be very neutral under breaking, not like VPP or Single Pivot Desings that use only one swingarm (like all the Orange bikes or the scott gambler). The high pivot on the Fury will allow the rear wheel to move up and backwards, away from the impact. Low pivots tend to give the rear wheel a forward path at around half of the travel. However, a high pivot makes the chain grow a lot more so you get a pedal efficient bike with a lot of pedal kickback (not what you want for dh). GT used an idler (that wheel that causes the high chain line) to make the bike feel like a normal four-bar with the pivot located right ontop of the chainring (thats the location where you have no upper chain growth as long as it also is the instant center or pivot point of the rear axle). E.g., a single pivot bike with the pivot right behind the highest point of your chainring has no pedal kickback, as the upper part of the chain (between chainring and cassete) it not growing. As a drawback, your bike is a little less efficient at pedalling which, in dh, is not as important as bump absorption. The high pivot design is what makes the Commencal DH so insanely fast and becomes a trend as Norco and Scott are going the same direction (The new Scott Gambler being similar to the GT from what I can tell by the secret photos). GT basicly took that design and integrated it into a horst link which is rather unusual with modern bikes and combines the two recent trends of horst-link bikes and high pivot designs. As you can tell I am really into what GT has done ;D great job guys, can't wait to test one out

Damn dude. You got it totally right. Generaly most of the people you find discussing suspension systems have no ideia what they're talking about.

There just saying it looks like it nothing else Don’t have to get so triggered
@paulahner21015 жыл бұрын
Archie O'Mahoney I'm not triggered, it's just getting a bit annoying when everyone thinks it's important to point out that there are other bikes using the same technique out there too. "Oh no, is a dh bike, looks like a Session..."

And yet Neko Mulally with his YT Tues MK3 take the first place. Doesn't matter how much lower the Fury's BB Height and Heand Angle will get, the YT Tues will always be one step forward with only 351MM of BB Height and 63.5°.
