The facade he puts up is praiseworthy. Just the right amount of emphaty, right amount of showing self awareness of the things he does to cloak the more shady side of his work, the right amount of charm. He has perfected the craft of setting himself up to show himself off. A one man show. This is novel worthy material lol.

There are maybe a handful of appreciating 6-figure watches in production. For example, you aren't aware that almost all watches covered in diamonds are worth less than the same unmolested watch. The exceptions are all factory diamond encrusted watches OR a famous piece.

A great deal of the host model of earning is based on prostitution. The hosts demand money from women, the women go out and earn money by selling their bodies directly or by being hostesses demanding money themselves. These top hosts are effectively pimps. Imagina having a kid but you don't want to support him/her in their toughest time of their lives. Some kids here are stealing money from their parents or selling their items for drugs, surely if the parents are poor, kids will get beaten and lectured, but to kick them out of the house because they suck at school? i guess that's one of the reason of the declining birth rate in japan. People only see the bling but I see a very lonely kid. His story is quite sad... and his dream of 'owning stuff' and 'wearing nice clothes' is very telling. On the other hand, I admire his will to fight and his tenacity to never give up on life. If you looked pass the booze and the party, you'd see a struggling young man trying to find his place in this world. I wish him luck. EDIT: Some people have accused me of being a 'feminist' and that I'm jealous of this young man. I just want to say that I have not a single iota of jealousy. I had some rough times growing up myself but I never had to endure homelessness and fend for myself at the age of 16. This person really had it rough and I'm just stating my observations. I admire and feel sad for him at the same time. That's all.

To be honest, this is really sad. I'm all in for people going there to have a good time out of their own accord, but the way loneliness and longing for affection is exploited to lure clients is heartbreaking.

He said "there are still many things I haven't done yet and things that I want to do in my life." It makes me wonder how he envisions his future. Being a host is like being an athlete, it has an "expiration date" or a "best by" date quicker than many other occupations. Whatever he decides to do next, I wish him all the best. Even though he calls himself "stupid," he's very emotionally intelligent and self-aware, so I know he'll find his path.

Most hosts end up making less money than an average person. There are just too many who end up wasting their money towards the end of their career with no job experience and cannot fix their over extravagant lifestyle.

Well for one, if everything else fails he can easily open up his own place. These top guys end up with so much psychological knowledge, that the charisma would never fade. It has to come from somewhere too. It's not an easy task to be a listener, and i would think most of these top dudes are good at that. Throwing compliments is just one thing in their line of work. If you're good all around it wouldn't be wrong to say he could easily be doing this up to his mid 30s.

Actually women dont mind age as much as men. Most men look for young girls even when they are at their 50's but women's preference usually get older with their age and they look for charisma. Its a proven fact. Which this guy has.

@@otk88403 you're forgetting the pressure and guilt you'll deal with on a daily basis. Take note at the part where he confessed that some of his clients prostitute themselves to pay him. The interviewer asked how he felt and that moment you can see his face gets quite uncomfortable. His answer was to look away. Means he is aware that he is the reason these girls/ladies get hooked into prostitution but he prefers not to think too deep. Can you deal with that? Knowingly pulling others into prostitution?

She always asks interesting questions in a non-pushy, respectful way, and her interviewees always seem comfortable with her.
