Jack Lambert has one of the most iconic looks of all-time. With the missing teeth, it makes him look that much more intimidating. But his look overshadows one of the greatest careers in NFL history. He helped lead the steel curtain to 4 super bowls during the 70's and 80's.

That will "cool your ass", was another classic Lambert saying! Haha! Folks today couldn't handle watching 1970's football. First they're too afraid of an injury happening, to watch the violent hits. Then the hard hitting would have them "HATE Tweeting" OH MY... Did you see how hard he hit him? He's a bad man!! #SAD

Some of us actually pronounce them Stillers. If you've never heard of Pittsburghese, you should look it up and the word Stillers would be in that dictionary. It's sort of a lost language nowadays, but it's still apart of southwestern PA regions culture. You'll also be surprised that the entire area has traditions and cultures so rich and so distinct it separates us from the rest of the country, but I digress.

I can't wait until we're 20-30 years removed from this generation of players being retired. Phillip Rivers will talk about Von Miller and Khalil Mack. Terrell Suggs will talk about how hard it was to tackle Big Ben. And so on and so forth. It'll be fun.

And nobody will be listening to those senile old men who did basically nothing to fight back against the numerous anti-American bigots who kneeled during the national anthem countless times. Tax breaks for all NFL stadiums need to and will eventually be cancelled along with all of the tax dollars being poured into college league programs that knowingly invite large numbers of violent rapists onto their campuses.

@@djhenyo Oh lord, you're so dramatic. The players who went with the movement usually grew up in ghettos they were lucky to escape with dedication and athletic ability. Kneeling during the anthem was the most passive way of expressing their views, and people like you get all puffed up like they dropped their pants and gangraped Old Glory on the 50-yard line. Though I personally think there's nothing wrong with disrespecting the shithole this country has become, what those players did had nothing to do with disrespecting America. If anything, they attempted to use their positions to make a statement, to try and make it better. To...believe it or not, in their own way...make it great again. Simple as that. In conclusion, rage at immature pieces of crap like me, not people who took a knee for something they believed in.

Probably not as good or intimidating but Greg Lloyd is my favorite he was the main player that brought back Steeler football. It was so exciting in the 90's to see them back to that image. I remember some years in the 80's where the Browns and Bengals would crush the Steelers.

I was playing ball during The Steelers' and the Steel Curtain's reign of terror in the NFL and absolutely idolized these guys. Thanks for pointing out just how much of what they were able to do was because of a huge amount of technical excellence. They were not only the monsters they are remembered for, and do not get me wrong, they were monsters, but they were also true craftsmen many of which defined what their positions were for years to come. Great vid, as always, and I continue to catch up.

Man...I was a HUGE Steelers fan as a kid, and Lambert was definitely my favorite. Just the epitome of "bad ass" every time he stepped on the field. Wasn't afraid to slam you to the ground and then stand over top and taunt the player. Just like the video said, he was intimidating with missing teeth, dead-eye stare and not afraid of ANY player he faced. Just amazing player.

Taken from a Steeler's Wire Article: John Elway describes his first ever NFL game against the Steelers and Lambert. Hall of Famer John Elway perfectly described the fear that Lambert put into quarterbacks. As a rookie, in Elway’s very first game, he had to face the vaunted Steelers defense with Lambert snarling at him from across the line. “He had no teeth, and he was slobbering all over himself,” recalled Elway. “I’m thinking, You can have your money back, just get me out of here. Let me go be an accountant. I can’t tell you how badly I wanted out of there.”

This is my favorite player of all time ! When I played I tried to play as well as he did because on the field it’s was it’s a battle field ! Between him and Randy white as by far the best players at their spots till today. Jack number 1 and randy number 2

The tale behind the Harris field goal moment is when he grabbed the Cowboys Harris and threw him to the ground, no Cowboys player came to his aid immediately. Steelers players said it galvanized something in them to see that fire he had, and they became the bullies again on the field. It's arguably the turning point of that Super Bowl according to those there.

Us yinzers to this day speak his name with reverence and pride. That man was the best. He epitomized Pittsburgh's hard nosed blue collar ethic. For those of us in Pittsburgh that saw him play. Our response is "yea that guys pretty good, but he ain't no Jack Lambert".

Interesting fact about the Cliff Harris incident. Jack Lambert almost got thrown out of the game for grabbing and tossing Harris aside and Lambert had to literally beg the officials not to toss him out of the game. Also Lambert is my favorite player of the 70s Steelers.

In the late 90s or earlys oughts, my father and I were hunting near our homes in western PA when we ran into jack splat lambert as a game warden. Nice man, We didn't bring up football because we had heard thru other areas hunters he didn't seem to like that. Hes there to do a job, and he does it well. Will talk hunting and fishing with you.
