Learn more about the KFH way of lungeing. With his professional background in communications he has shaken up the international horse world. He is working with these powerful, dignified creatures in accordance with nature. The development of the rider's "presence" and an orientation to holistic principles is integral to this work.Klaus has the ability to "know" a horse within a few seconds and within a few minutes of the first meeting, he establishes a relationship so firmly that anything after that is completely based on trust -- creating lifelong friendship with the horses. Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling (latest book The Horse Seeks Me) is touching equestrians worldwide, with response in fields like natural horsemanship, horse whispering, classical and freestyle dressage, equestrian sports, western riding, endurance, eventing and horseback riding in general. He is at the forefront on working and interacting with horses and is known for authentic and effective groundwork according to the horses' nature, often proved and documented with stallions (breeding stallions). He considers the horse's psyche (horse psychology) and communicates via body language with these beautiful creatures. His first book, 'Dancing with Horses' met with overwhelming success. The main focus of his teaching is the humans' personal development and he is the founder of horse assisted manager and leadership training, having trained and coached many managers and leaders from companies all over the world. Klaus lived with wild horses in wilderness to observe their animal language and natural horse behaviour. In the beauty of this nature he developed his principals of the 'first encounter' of human and horse.
One of his specialties is the work with difficult and aggressive horses. Hempfling transforms dangerous, nervous, traumatized horses into cooperative companions. They recognize him as their leader, and become willing partners in groundwork and under saddle. The KFH riding system 'Balanced Weight Riding' starts with thorough groundwork and lungeing at liberty, building up the potential for the exercises of the High School Dressage (Haute Ecole), like shoulder-in, Spanish walk, passage.One may say that he is meanwhile one of the leading names in the issue animal and especially horse welfare and horse passion and love, as well as horses in wildlife, roots in nature and animal communication. The German TV program called him one of the most important horse whisperer of the world. Hempfling's professional background is in the fields communication, art, theater, music, study of native people and cultures. He lives on a small island in the Danish Archipelago where he conducts exclusive courses for people from all corners of the world.

loved it when the stallion yawned at about 2:30. Rolling with resistance, allowing the spirit to express itself, then providing a safe place to be. thank you Klaus

I am Constantly facinated by his ablity and his method, so reminds me of my Dad,,who has passed. Dad's methods were very similer, never break the spirit of the horse, train the horse and it's natural self, each horse is different Dad would watch each horse first then train.

Klaus, thank you for what you do for these beautiful creatures. I don't think there's anything more beautiful then a horse's spirit.

Yawning and chewing/licking the lips are all ways for a horse to release tension. The whole body of a horse is connected with bone and muscle, which starts at the jaw muscles and joint. This is why a horse that is tense in the face can never relax through the whole body. What you see is this horse realising that it is okay to be relaxed and that he doesn't need to fight, because he has found someone that understands.

Just beautiful. I loved how you handled the stallion. He would have followed you anywhere. You have completely earned his trust. I wish there were more people like you when it came to training horses. Especially stallions. People need to understand it is a trust and respect thing when it comes to any animal.

I truly love every video I have seen of KFH and I am always in awe and so grateful for horse people in this world like Klaus.. A dream for me would be to go to his country and visit him but fear of flying holds me back, so I will always continue to watch this beautiful kind soul with his horses on video. You are a true inspiration Klaus.

Notice the owner's whip is all over the front of the horse, driving it's head in an awkward, non meaningful way. Notice Klaus with his gentle driving. Excellent video.

to understand you need to let go of fear...and observe the horse. I too need to be in a calm safe situation first to let go of fear...then you can become more aware of the horse. Just from observing Hempfling I think he is fully aware of the horse feelings and inner unbalance and needs space to let the pent up energy come out...at first...you need to stay calm for this to work....and alert, as the horse slows down he stops and stays put. showing the horse decisiveness /

What beauty you can see in horses if you understand them and not just throw them in a pasture or stall and feed and water them and call yourself a great horse owner. Many horses are willing to serve if you take time to work with them.

This isn't a stud thing. It's a people thing. Horses are a reflection of the person working them.
@namu-vn9fh

True. Studs simply are more work because there are added hormones that geldings don't have. If you have a stallion, you have to allow for his instincts and understand that there are special allowances you have to make for him.

Hi Klaus, I have always been afraid of horses, and do not know some of the body and 'facial' Language of Hoses, Can you please explain when the horse was apparently 'Laughing' is he 'Yawning?' On this particular video it seems to me that his mind doesn't want to fight and hurt you but his body still resists and continues to jump and kick, almost as if at one moment he wants to break lose, and then he doesn't which is indicated by holding his head back as he jumps? Take care. mrbluenun

Good grief - she's dancing all over the place to stay away from him and yanking him towards her with the lead as she warns him off with the whip. That sort of mixed signaling could get an elderly gelding annoyed. The horse is not attacking with intent to harm, he's doing the "look how dominant I am" prancing and posturing that all horses do. The other trainer is standing calmly and lets the horse get over it. With the introductory posturing out of the way, they can get acquainted.

I believe it's a stud thing! Especially if they've been mated. The best thing, in my opinion, is to geld them. Most people don't have any business with a stallion. :)

This method seems quick, easy, safe and relaxed. But still I wouldn't go inside a pen with a horse like this without a whip in case he would chose to go full forward attack mode. Allthough stallions mostly just intimidate and challenge and mares can be really mean, you never know. Of there's one predictable thing l learned about horses; they are UNpredictable.

I believe the horse was signaled by his owner to be at that level of aggression, and most likely over fed!!! Gorgeous horse, but a calm and secure leader is what the horse-- all horses-- want, and if you aren't 'it'' the horse will fill the void-- but stallions aren't ''leaders' so the poor young guy was confused and insecure---
