Technically, the farmer did have the right to remove unwanted or illegal structures on his property. Since the squatter was living inside the caravan, it could be seen as a structure.

I have even less patience for squatters than OP and would have called police and a tow truck immediately. Great stories, Ripe. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Wherever the squatter is located on my land, that's where I'd be fertilizing with liquid cow manure! No warning, word will get around quick to stay away or get stinky.

“You can’t claim nature” - I’ve always thought “well if you can’t claim nature then I guess you can’t claim that car since it’s technically part of the nature landscape” or some other smart ass train of thought 😂

Re story 1, I live in the UK and we have traveler’s who think that they can set up camp anywhere they want to. One day they decided to do just that on a farmers field. What they hadn’t thought about was how the farmer would react to their actions. These travelers were not law abiding people and believe that they are entitled to do whatever they want without fear of the police taking action against them. The next thing I saw was the farmer going into the field with his tractor, he then started to ploughing the field around their camp. They soon got the message that this farmer wasn’t going to be nice towards them trespassing on his land. They soon moved off the land 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏

Many years ago a farmer that i knew, (he was an uncle of a college friend of mine, who lived in south Kent, UK) had his own way of dealing with "odd" cars that turned up on his property. On one occasion a car was seemingly abandoned, obstructing a gate to a field of sheep that he needed to attend to, so with a famhand he changed fence panels with the gate so effectively moved the gate, but covered the car with a tarpaulin, then put an old shed over that and added bales of rusty barbed wire, a pile of old lumber, a broken old plough and bits of general farm detritus. It just looked like it had always been there. Another time he covered a car with tarpaulin and then covered that with about three hundred old car tires, so it looked to all the world like a silage clamp. Silage is fresh cut grass, sealed nowadays in plastic, but then it would ferment and not go rotten so was fed to livestock as a winter fodder. The local police asked him if he had seen any strange cars about, but he feigned ignorance and they, not seeing what was hidden in plain sight, left. After a couple of years he scrapped both cars with his local, friendly junkyard owner, splitting the profit 50 / 50. He once sneaked out at 02:30 one morning and welded a neighbours gates together for a prank. This all happened in the 1970s. Long before cars were fitted with alarms and tracers. He retired in about 1998 after about 40 years on that farm and died in 2008 so its safe to tell those stories. Another time he moved a car to a piece of land that had an old out of use quarry and pushed it over the edge and covered it with rocks and dirt, there were (and as far as i know several others still quietly rusting under tonnes of debris). I still miss that old man and his sense of humour.

The consequences of his actions should have been you calling the cops and having him kicked off your property nice and simple. That’s what cops are for.

Do people actually read these texts when setting up accounts? Especially the "Do NOT share the password with anyone"? 😂
@benwagner5089
@benwagner5089 Жыл бұрын
True, but at the same time it makes sense to share it with your kids, especially when they're first setting out and don't want/need the added expense of their own subscription. Where the in-law went really bad, though, was changing the password that all the other people were using so she'd be the sole user of the account. The account she wasn't even paying for, that she was mooching off of. I classify this sort of thing up there with identity theft and stolen property. The fact that she immediately went to steal the Disney+ credentials from the wife should get her banned from any family functions that OP attends.

@@benwagner5089 Wouldn't it be a good idea especially when starting to learn how to live on your own to understand the concept of "cost of living" vs. unnecessary expenses (luxury) and make decisions, between streaming fees vs. one week worth of food? That's how I learned to weigh necessities vs. luxuries. And I fondly remember the time I deliberately decided to "waste" hard earned money on a luxury. It's personal value for me increased dramatically through the feeling that I earned it. The other consequence of sharing passwords is, it can be a dangerous tool depending on the intent. Pay-per-view in the hand of some kids, may be very tempting, trying to impress there friends. Part of the reason for the "Do not share your password" is to shift liability solely to the customer. No excuse, you were the only one who knew the password, right? 😉

@@shagrat47 Having a proper class to explain what all the grown-up expenses are would have been great. When I got my first apartment, I thought the electric bill was included in the rent. Cue my surprise one morning when the lights didn't work and my alarm didn't go off. Luckily I could get that fixed within a day or two.

Not every country has lax gun laws like Merica and you can get in more trouble than the trespasser for leveling a fire arm at a person. The police or whoever enforces the law would be the correct thing to do even if it was in Merica the land of shoot first ask questions later.

Last: Qarens thrive when you show the least bit of weakness or kindness, apparently. Why apologize? Why go out of your way? WAS SHE GRATEFUL? Customers have rights and so do employees. OP should have told her to go back and take the order which must have been delivered. "We are busy and have no time to deal with your nonsense" THEN ENTERED THE SYSTEM and tagged her name and address for "DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS BUTTH"

S1, NTI, the Common Law is quite clear, you are entitled to use “Reasonable Force” to remove a Trespasser, if there is a local law enforcement agency available, ask them to remove the trespasser, if there isn’t, or, they are not available, a shotgun speaks volumes.

That internet network OP's girlfriend was using is weird. The network name/SSID is one thing and the default password it comes with is something entirely different, usually printed on the bottom of the router. How a leecher would find that info out I'm not sure. But yeah, don't mess around with your personal stuff on an open network. You never know who's listening in.
