Mega Man X5 [100% Run] - Cutscene: The Shuttle Fails; Zero Becomes A Maverick

This cutscene occurs if the space shuttle ends up failing to destroy the Eurasia colony. Zero presumably gets caught in the blast, and becomes possessed by the virus, awakening his "true self". Beginning the alternate story path where X must defeat Maverick Zero, and Sigma ends up killing Zero following Zero Stage 3. Thus, you'll get X's "bad" ending once you complete the game. But we'll get to that in the vs Maverick Zero and X's "bad "ending videos. This particular cutscene is pretty dramatic though. After Zero becomes a Maverick, you won't be able to play as him for the rest of the game.

Try no upgrades for the Enigma. First playthrough, First try. Succeeded. Managed to beat Shadow Devil with Zero before I fought any mavericks.

Getting no parts should have been a guaranteed failure while getting all parts is a guaranteed success. Why would they RNG the endings at the cost of Zero?

X5 is definitely the scariest game in the series. Not because it has any sort of horror elements to it, but because the tone, setting, and story are so dark, especially if the shuttle fails, but at the same time, X5 is the most uplifting game in the series, especially if the cannon succeeds. Not to mention how worried Alia is for the player, pleading with you not to continue if both the cannon and shuttle fail when she normally is very composed and calm.

Even scarier, the colony dropping and wiping out most of the earth is canon for X6 @LemonGrab: I've done it before, but RNJesus is a fickle creature

If you didn't upgrade the shuttle (by defeating the 4 Mavericks on the right side), there's a much higher chance of failing. However, I've succeeded before without any upgrades. The Shuttle has a much higher chance of being successful than the Enigma did.

Easy for you to say. That game has a random cutscenes. I try to collect 4 upgrade for the Shuttle and the Enigma Cannon. But, it fails. What the hell is wrong with those guys who make Megaman X5!?

Apparently my enigma mission suceed tho....correct me if i'm wrong but the more you have live before you shot the enigma/shuttle the more succeed it become (around 8-9 lives)

Again, maybe there was a hardware limitation that prevented Capcom from putting these incentives in the game, so they put a random number generator in to make up for it.

Man I had black zero, built him up, got him all the heart tanks and I did everything right up till this exact cutscene. I was so fucking pissed I had to play as x the rest of the way

I'm playing game now this just happened to me, I main as Black Zero got all Enigma parts, fails, got all shuttle parts, shuttle fails. Now I'm stuck with super under powered Mega Man....... is that it? There's no way to get Zero back?

Andre Su my g no there is not. Only chance you had was turning the game off during the cut scene to trigger the random outcome again

The opposite can happen too when you are ready to sacrifice Zero and you plan on getting the bad ending as you plan to play X as full and the Shuttle succeeds with beating none of the bosses. RNG fcks us up.

I didn't even know it could actually fail. I must have had GREAT RNG, because I remember starting a new game as a kid and instantly doing it and there was no difference. So I thought it was such a stupid concept if there is no difference between having the parts or not. Good to know that there actually is a pretty big chance of failing.

X-men 97 episode 10, Reference to This Cutscene, appears when the Magneto Protocol, which fires missiles on Asteroid M fail, and even from Bonus the Debris of asteroid M Falls to the earth.

Weird, some of the dialogue in this scenario applies more properly to the scenario that the colony crashes when you let the time run out, after Eurasia crashes. It might be an error or something.

It's the same, the only difference is that here the colony crashes in 5 pieces instead of 1.

I've heard if you let Zero be infected completely (as in becoming invincible) 13 times before destroying the colony, the shuttle will never succeed. Is this true?

No but gives you higher rate or failure. Even at caution rate lowers once you get the virus cutscene.

This isn't Omega. It's Zero himself but infected by the Sigma Virus.

No it’s not Zero infected by the virus. This is Zero as how he was originally built. Dr. Wily created the original maverick virus, then it got transferred to Sigma becoming the Sigma virus. This is just the Sigma virus (now the Zero virus) cleaning out Zero’s body and restoring his original programming. Kill X.

If you play X5 by Zero and Shuttle Fail so you only use X no armor, no Heart Tank to Complete game.

The preparation song before the launch, you don't know what will happen. The total silence, no songs... The realization of the failure of the mission. The desperation and loss of hope of the aftermatch The rude Awaekning of the "Destroyer of Reploids" And at last... the omnious song... that song... this Megaman has it all when it came to the bad ending.

The fact that the outcome of the Enigma Cannon and Shuttle is random makes the story interesting, yet unfair as to not know until you find out that Zero goes maverick. How do you even get the good ending? I'm trying to unlock all Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 Medals.

Idk why, but I cannot get this to happen fsr Shuttle succeeded on my first and second playthroughs (Zero, then X) Then I intentionally tried to get it to fail twice (let the viruses hit Zero and everything), and yet, it succeeded *both* times Starting to think the game knows Zero's my fav char (Which would make sense since i started with him)

on reality you need to defeat all the mavericks to destroy the colony. he only used the rocket without the mavericks defeated. then how is that you get the bad ending

If the Enigma/Shuttle succeeds, then you can go along to get the good ending. In addition, if the Enigma succeeds, you can skip the Mavericks that have the shuttle parts.

Marshmard Games Yep, even fully upgraded, there’s a small chance the shuttle will fail, in contrast to how there’s a small chance the Enigma will succeed. It’s pretty sucky if you were playing as Zero the whole game and now have to play with X and no upgrades or parts.
